Aspen Malfoy sat in a church beside her father and little brother and couldn't help but stare at the muggle woman and the hats they wore.
"Why are we here again?" Aspen asked as she tried her hardest not to fall asleep.
"My parents always brought me to church. I had stopped during the war because I didn't wish to drag any death eater near these muggles." Oscar explained and aspen raised an eyebrow.
"Witches and wizards don't have a faith."
"Not entirely true. We do if we have muggle family or half bloods as well. Nothing wrong with branching out Aspen." he said as he sent her a smile.
"Yea Aspen." Oliver teased earning Aspen to glare at him.
'Bugger off you little toad." She hissed at Oliver earning Oscar to shake his head.
"Every time. Now hush, it's almost over."
As Aspen turned her attention back to the alter where the priest was now leading a prayer she couldn't help but wonder how her life would be different if she was raised by her father and not her Uncle.
Would she know more muggle customs since he did? Would she not have her raging mother issues, though she doubt that would ever go away.
As she saw everyone stand up she was quick to follow earning Oliver and Oscar to laugh before they tried to cover it with a cough.
'Next time I'm staying with my Uncle." she hissed before the priest said everyone could leave. Oscar led his two children down the aisle and outside. Standing at the bottom of the church steps was Roxanne and Aspen couldn't help but want to reach for her wand.
"How the hell did she know where we are? Does she have a tracker spell on you?" She hissed as Oscar who sighed.
"I wrote to her last month asking for her to join us. She never responded so I assumed she just wasn't going to come." He said and Aspen shook her head.
'I'm out of here."
As she broke away from her father and brother and down the stairs she saw her mother staring at her.
"Aspen wait! Don't go!" Roxanne cried out and Aspen let out a laugh as she faced her mother who was standing three steps below her.
"You ruin everything good in my life. All these years I was better off believing you were dead not somewhere buying yourself time. You have been so selfish through everything. Lying about who my father was and keeping me away from him. If you loved me as much as you claimed you do, you would actually drop dead."
Roxanne stood staring at her for a moment before she put the classic Malfoy face and stared at her.
"I am still your mother and you will remember to treat me with respect."
"No I won't. The only woman I will ever recognize as my mother is Narcissa. She has taught me everything a young woman like me would ever need. Only thing I ever learned from you was how to lie to everyone I love and how to run away instead of facing my issues."
As soon as those words left Aspen's mouth, Roxanne had reached up and had smacked Aspen across the face.
"Roxanne!" Aspen heard Oscar yell before she heard footsteps and felt someone pulling her close to them. When she opened her eyes she had saw her hand was holding her cheek and Oliver was holding onto her.
Oscar stood in front of Roxanne with his wand pointed at her neck.
"How dare you?! How dare you hit her?! How dare you lay a finger on her?" He screamed and Roxanne just stared at him.
"She is my child. I can discipline her as I see fit."
"She is more mine than she has ever been yours. Even I don't dare to hit her!" He hissed and Roxanne stared at her former lover.
"You invited me here if I have to remind you."
"You are correct I did. So you could see Aspen since you have been begging to see her. Not for you to abuse her because she is telling you how she feels."
Oscar turned to his two children and saw them huddled with each other and then he turned back to Roxanne.
"What has happened to the care free Roxanne I fell in love with all those years ago. The one who I gave up everything for?" He whispered softly.
"Your wife killed her and the woman I am now is because of what she has done to me."
"And like I have said we will find her and you will have your justice. Roxanne, please. I have always wanted us to be a family."
Roxanne went to say something before Aspen cleared her throat.
"She won't be your family Woods. Haven't you learned she married into mine." A voice said and everyone turned around to see who said this.
"Alexander." Roxanne whispered and the man smirked at her.
"Hello darling. They told me you were dead but I am very happy you are still alive." The blonde hair man said as he walked down the stairs and made his way towards Roxanne who stood frozen in her spot.
He pressed a kiss to her cheek before turning to Aspen.
"And my beautiful Aspen. My how you have grown. You look just like your mum, those Malfoy genes are very strong. It was good when I had to pass you as my offspring. I've enjoyed your letters while I was locked away."
"They let you out of Azkaban? How?" Aspen asked as she stepped in front of Oliver.
"I served my fifteen years. They had no choice but to let me go."
He turned to Roxanne and laced their hands together.
"Come., your brother is expecting us and then back to Carrow manor we go." He said before they apparted away.
"They let him out."
