Yesterday, she was a girl who wished she could spend the rest of her days in the presence of him. Yesterday, she felt like the air couldn't get any sweeter to taste, or the sky couldn't get any clearer. The sun is still shining even when the moons out.
But today, waking up. In the presence of the man, she wishes to be with till the day she dies. It's all real. He proposed last night. And she said yes. It really happened. Her wish came true.
Susan turned her head, an adorable Ringo sleeping beside her, his hair ruffled to filth and his arm firmly wrapped around her. This was the best feeling in the world.
Then, Daniel's voice caught her attention. He was on the phone with someone. Most likely their mother because of his argumentative tone. Susan sighed and dropped her head back on the pillow, desperate to endure just a little more peace.
However, that didn't last long when she realised that she didn't even tell her mother about her engagement to Ringo let alone reveal that they were in a relationship, to begin with. Eyes widening, and heart rate quickening, Susan rushed to get her clothes on and rushed out into the hall.
"Yeah, I know." Dan monotoned. "It's Miami, not fucking Mars."
"Dan, I need to speak to her," Susan spoke abruptly. Dan tipped her a glance before proceeding to ignore her and continued his conversation.
"I'm an adult now mum." He said. His expression turned sour. "17 is old!"
Susan huffed in frustration and knowing she wouldn't get the phone for at least another hour, snatched the receiver from her brother's hand.
"Oi!" He exclaimed.
"Hi mum, it's me." Dan rolled his eyes and walked off into another room. He wasn't exactly desperate to take his mother's verbal canning anyway.
"Susan." Her mother snapped. "Why haven't you called me? I wake up to find your brother is missing, next minute I know, I get a call he's in New York!NOW, he's apparently in Miami."
"He is mum. We both are." Her mother sighed on the line.
"I can't believe you two. Why don't you ever call me?" She questioned.
"I know. I'm sorry." Susan apologised. "But I promise he's safe. We're all taking care of him."
"Hmm. And how are those boys that you've flown off with? They better be keeping a safe distance." She warned.
"Mum." Susan exasperated. "Actually." She said after a moment. "I have to tell you something."
"You're not pregnant are you?"
"NO!" Susan shouted, attracting her brother's attention who came nosing in the hall. "I'm not."
"Good. Well, go on then." As Susan took a breath, she felt an overwhelming feeling of sickness in her stomach.
And, before she could even try to excuse herself, just left the phone hanging and ran to the bathroom. Dan quickly followed, concerned as to what had just happened.
When he walked in, Susan was on her knees and throwing up in the toilet. He grimaced at the sight. "You alright?" He asked after a moment.
"Yeah." Susan rubbed her mouth. "I need to get back." She stood up and weakly made her way back to the phone. "Mum?"
"Susan. What happened, where did you go?" She worried. "You didn't fall, did you?"
"No. I'm fine, honestly."
"Ok. You said you had to tell me something."
Susan took a deep breath. Suddenly, revealing her secret didn't seem so attractive anymore, especially with her newfound nausea. "Oh. Nothing really. I just wanted to tell you how much we're both missing you." She blagged.
Her mother didn't seem so convinced but Susan managed to talk it off. After finally saying goodbye, Susan called a meeting between her, Daniel and the girls in their bedroom to tell them the news. She couldn't keep it a secret from them, and anyway. They had to find out at some point.

Barbara yawned, fighting a losing battle to keep her eyes open. Susan had to wake her up but luckily, Linda was already awake and was eating breakfast on the sofa when she found her.
"So, why are we here?" Daniel asked, suspicious as always.
"Right." Susan stood nervously before them, constantly biting her nails. "So."
"For fuck sake Sues, I'm falling asleep here." Barbara exasperated tiredly.
"Yeah, it'll only take a minute." Barbara rolled her eyes and yawned again. "Ok, I'm just gunna say it because if I..." Susan stopped, unsure of how she was going to say it. "Ok so-"
"Oh my god just!"
"We're engaged!" Susan blurted.
GASP. Followed by silence and a massive o shaped expression from Barbara and a shocking eye pop from Daniel.
"Ritchie and I, of course." She added in a whisper.
"Congratulations." Linda smiled. Susan smiled. At least someone was happy.
"Wait." Daniel breathed sharply. "So... So-" He sighed, completely lost.
"Wait, you didn't know?" Barbara jerked her head at Dan confrontationally.
"What?" Daniel bellowed. "I didn't know shit, why would I know?"
"Well, he did get you here."
"Yeah, he never said he was gunna propose!"
"Who cares who knew or when?" Linda interrupted. "The point is, our best friend, and sister." She nodded to Dan. "Is getting married." Susan smiled shyly.
Barbara looked at Susan and a big grin came across her face. "Come here, you BITCH." Barbara ran over to Susan and embraced her in a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you!" She squealed.
"Thank god." Susan let out a breath of relief. "I thought you were gunna go mad."
"He might." Linda gestured to Dan.
"No." He argued, still in shock. "It's just a surprise, that's all."
"A good one?" After a moment he nodded.
"I'm not bothered." He shrugged. "As long as you're happy an all." Susan smiled, she knew the last thing Dan wanted to do was show unconditionally support but a not bothered would do.
"Right!" Barbara clapped her hands. "I suggest a
drink to celebrate." She smirked."Yes but-"
"Not too much, I know." Barbara gave Susan a wink. "Come on."

Finding the lads in the lounge, they all turned when they saw Susan coming. Her eyes scanned past them all. They all shared the same expression. Her gaze landed on Ringo. He wore a shy, guilty look, and a small smile.
"It's ok." She said, cutting the silence. "I told them." She gestured to Dan and the girls.
"Ayyyy! They're getting fuckin married!" John boomed.
All the boys cheered and held up their glasses. Susan walked over to Ringo, giving him a warm smile.
"I guess we're both shit at keeping secrets." He joked.
"I guess so." She said and kissed his cheek.
