It had been a week since that night down at the docks and Ringo had by some miracle convinced Susan to come to their gig tomorrow night. It had taken him a LOT of talking on the phone and one time in person when he took her to a cafe for some dinner after work. It made Susan laugh when he picked her up wearing some funny glasses and a fake moustache. Ringo made it clear that it was only to protect his identity. Susan kinda liked it anyway.

He also told her about his job and working with the lads on their new top-secret records. Secrets that he just spilt out to Susan but weirdly he knew he could trust her. Like some sub-conscious feeling. Anyway, his feeling was right because Susan didn't tell Barbara a word even with her screaming down her ear to at least tell her a lyric.

Susan also got a chance to moan to Ringo about Barbara nagging her. Of course, she kept her true name a secret no matter how bad she felt on him. Barbara was her best friend after all. Ringo seemed to have taken a weird liking to Linda. Probably because she just didn't give a fuck about the Beatles at all.

After telling each other stories about their friends, they were only wanting to meet them more and more. Susan wanted to meet Ringo's bandmates and Ringo oddly wanted to meet her flatmates. Ringo warned her about his friends, telling her that they were a handful and Susan told him the same thing.

There was a connection but last night wasn't imaginary and it did linger. Susan made sure not to nag but she asked a little about Maureen. Ringo was kind and told her bits here and there. He was calmer now that Susan knew the truth.

She sure made it clear that they weren't rushing into anything and if there was something that could blossom then it would blossom on its own and he was completely fine with that.

"So, what's your job like as a freelance photographer?" Ringo asked as he tucked into the food he ordered at the cafe.

Susan was hesitant at first. She had to keep reminding herself that she was this 'freelance photographer' even though she wasn't. "Yeah, it's alright." She shrugged. "Not much to it really."

"I can still ask the lads about you coming to America with us if you want?" Ringo offered. Ringo had told Susan about America and how they were finally going to take it over. It sounded so fun but Susan wasn't so sure.

"No, it's ok honestly. I'm seriously not that good." She was saying anything she could to get him to re-think his decision.

"Well, it might make you better then." Ringo smiled. He was just so determined. "I'm into photography too. You could teach me a little." Susan smiled back although she was terrified inside. She couldn't teach him anything. He was probably better than her.

"Maybe."

"You'd be my tutor." He beamed with a grin.

"Yeah..." Susan forced a smile.

Afterwards, they went for a walk around the streets. There was a lot of window shopping involved. Susan glanced at a dress she really liked on a mannequin and Ringo caught on instantly and practically begged her to let him buy it for her even though she had said no a hundred times.

It took her a while but she finally got him to leave it behind. They talked about all sorts of things. Places, people, things they'd like to see. Their greatest achievements. All Susan could think of was when she won a medal at school for something she couldn't even remember anymore.

Without realising it and almost as if it happened subconsciously, Susan glanced down as they were walking and noticed that her hand was intertwined with Ringo's. She was going to say something but she couldn't. His hand was warm against hers and it just felt... Right. She smiled to herself and they kept on walking.

"So, Richard Starkey. That's a cute name." Susan smiled as they walked. "Where did you get Ringo from?"

"I'm always wearing rings so." He gestured to his free hand. Susan looked at the two rings on his free hand and noticed two rings on his other.

"Oh." She looked at him. "Why are you wearing four?"

"What's it to you?" He smirked.

"Nothing." She shook her head. "Divvy." She whispered under her breath.

"You're a divvy." He replied.

"No." She gave him a look. "You're a divvy."

Ringo shook his head. "You're a divvy."

For the rest of the day, they called each other names and laughed at each other until Ringo took her home.

He walked her up to her front door. He was desperate to spend more time with her and so was Susan.

"See you tomorrow." Susan smiled.

"How are you so beautiful?" Ringo spoke out loud, his eyes fixated on her completely. Susan blushed.

"I guess..." Susan started but was quickly entranced in Ringo as he was with her. "I guess..." she tried again as they both leaned in towards each other.

She pressed her lips against his, her mind remembering the delicious taste of this man. Ringo deepened the kiss, this time giving into to his unbearable thirst. Her arms went around his neck and he hugged her closer to him. Just as the kiss starts to become a massive snog, Susan pulls back, a little startled.

"I should go." She gestured with a thumb to the door.

Ringo nodded, he looked pretty startled too. "Yeah course." He breathed.

"I really should," Susan said again staring at Ringo.

"Yeah..." Ringo nodded.

Susan was about to open the door but something in her took over. She turned back to Ringo and grabbed him by his arms, pulling him in and passionately kissed him once more. It took a moment but Ringo succumbed to the kiss and made sure it lasted.
