Barbara sighed and walked over to pour herself a large scotch.
"Well." Susan followed her like around the room like a shadow.
Barbara took a swig and looked at her. "What?" Susan rolled her eyes.
"What did he say? What did you say? What did you both say?" Barbara let out a breath of disgust and rolled her eyes.
"Aren't we supposed to be watching the show? That's what we're here for right?" Barbara started to walk away.
"Does he know?" Susan questioned. Barbara turned slightly.
"Know what?"
"You know what." Barbara turned around but didn't say anything. The fact she wasn't saying anything gave Susan goosebumps. "Does he?" She asked again.
Barbara shrugged. "does it matter?" Susan's mouth dropped. It surprised her even more that Barbara seemed cool about the whole thing.
"How? Did you tell him? Did he find out?" Susan was off now and there was no bringing her back.
"I didn't tell him you divvy. Nancy got in contact with him." Susan stopped, she felt like her heart had stopped with her.
"The real Nancy?" Her voice was shaky.
"Is there an echo in the room? Yes, the real Nancy. They're going for lunch in like a week." Barbara took another hard sip of her scotch. It didn't seem to fix anything.
"Was he angry?"
"No, he was overjoyed of course he was fuckin angry." Barbara really pitied Susan sometimes.
"What's going to happen?" Susan was thinking the worst at this point.
"Nothing's going to happen, calm down." Barbara lit up a ciggie and held one out for Susan. "Have one."
Susan took it without hesitation and started smoking it like there was no tomorrow. Barbara looked at her.
"Girl you better calm down with that one or you're going straight back to nici town," Barbara warned with a finger.
"We're gonna get kicked out." Susan cried, taking multiple drags.
"We're not getting kicked out," Barbara assured.
"How do you know?" Susan raised her eyebrow and took a giant drag of her ciggie. The stress was actually saving her right now because if it wasn't for the amount of adrenaline running through her veins then she would have probably had BAD nici rush.
"Well, isn't it clear?" Susan shook her head. Barbara sighed and laughed at the same time.
"This isn't funny Barbs."
"Because you got Mr lover boy on your side that's why," Barbara smirked and poured another glass.
"That doesn't mean anything." Susan disagreed.
"It means everything."
"He doesn't care about me," Susan stated.
"Girl, are you blind as well as a rock?" Barbara laughed. "He is all over you. How do you think we even got in here?"
"You don't know anything." Barbara walked closer to Susan as if she were a predator and Susan was her dinner.
"He wants you." Barbara grinned. "And he'll do anything to keep you on his-"
"OK!" Susan interrupted. "You've made your point." Barbara laughed and walked away.
"Come on, we'll miss the first number." Barbara started walking to the door.
"Promise me that everything is fine."
"Girlll...." Barbara stressed.
"Promise!" Barbara opened the door and turned to Susan.
"I prom." She grinned.
