Watching the lads play could only be described as pure bliss. John's vocals were perfectly blended in with Paul and George's. That's what Susan was imagining as their playing was completely drowned out by the tens of screaming girls. She couldn't hear a thing. Barbara would open her mouth but nothing seemed to come out.
She didn't care though. She couldn't keep her eyes off Ringo while he played. He was stealing the show in her eyes. He saw her looking in the corner of his eye and a big smile came across his face and he started playing even more enthusiastically than before. She couldn't wait to give him a well-done kiss later.
However, the thought did make her feel bad in a way. Looking at Ringo was all she wanted to do but it only filled her with more questions. She felt bad for thinking these things about him knowing that he had a girlfriend at home somewhere waiting for him to call. She tried not to think about it but it was always in the back of her head.
"Susan!" She snapped out her daze and turned to Barbara. "Susan!" Barbara shouted louder.
"What?" Susan shouted back.
"I can't hear shit!" Susan leaned in towards Barbara.
"What?" Barbara sighed.
"I SAID I CAN'T HEAR SHIT!" Barbara shouted in her friend's ear.
"ME NEITHER!" Susan agreed.
Some girls started throwing jelly babies on the stage, presumably aiming for the lads.
"What are they doing?" Barbara watched them as threw countless jelly babies, one smacking against George's ankle.
"WHAT?" Susan shouted. Barbara gestured with a finger and Susan looked at the girls throwing jelly babies.
"Why are they doing that?"
"THEY'RE THROWING JELLY BABIES!" Barbara shouted.
"I CAN SEE THAT! WHY?"
"I KNOW IT'S A WASTE!" Barbara shouted back, not understanding what Susan had said earlier. "I WANT TO GO OUT AND GET THEM!"
"WHAT?"
"I SAID I WANT TO GO OUT AND PICK UP THE JELLY BABIES!!" Barbara screamed in Susan's ear.
"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Susan shook her head disapprovingly at Barbara. Barbara sighed and lit up a ciggie.
Susan's gaze fixed on Ringo once again. He made it look so easy. They all did. A girl threw a jelly baby, almost hitting Ringo on the head. Susan felt a wave of anger rising inside her. Why did these girls feel the need to throw things at them?
Ringo looked at Susan and winked crushing her anger and replacing it with a weightless feeling inside. She smiled back and turned to Barbara who had finished her ciggie and was already onto her next.
"BARBS!" Susan called. Barbara gave her a nod, indicating that she had her attention. "I THINK TONIGHT IS GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE! DON'T YOU?"
"WHAT?"
"I SAID I THINK TONIGHT IS GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE!" Susan repeated. Barbara's eyes widened.
"ARE YOU AND RINGO SHAGGING?"
"WHAT?" Barbara repeated herself but Susan couldn't tell what she was saying even with her shouting. "YEAH..." she replied just to be polite.
A massive grin ran across Barbara's face. "OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE!"
"WHAT IS?" Barbara looked at her.
"WHAT?" Susan looked at her.
"WHAT?"
"YOU NEED TO SHOUT LOUDER!" Susan gave her a confused look.
"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?" Barbara sighed.
"YOU'RE A BITCH!" She shouted knowing that Susan couldn't tell what she was saying.
"WHAT?" Barbara laughed.
"YOU ARE A BITCH!" Susan leaned in closer.
"I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Barbara leaned into Susan's ear.
"BITCH..." She enunciated. Susan pulled away and gave her a weird look.
Barbara kept on shouting insults and other weird things throughout the rest of the show. Susan wasn't listening anyway as Ringo had completely entranced her. She never wanted the night to end.
