Susan looked at him for a moment. He didn't seem bothered but she guessed that he probably had gotten over his past. Or maybe he was just hiding it. "Would you have wanted to go to school if you could?"
"What? And miss out on all the pretty nurses answering to all me calls. Never." He grinned. Susan had found herself falling for that grin of his.
"Wasn't it boring?" She asked. Susan had been to the hospital twice and both times all she could think about was how bad she wanted to leave.
"I got used to it after a while. Anyway" he clapped, making Susan blink in surprise. "Enough about little old me. The real question is, are you coming to our next gig?"
"Do you want me to?" Susan had already been thinking about the gig. She wanted to go but she also didn't. She was afraid she was getting ahead of herself or just being stupid.
"Do you think I want you to?" Ringo asked back."I don't know."
"Course I want ye to! You'd love it." He assured.
"I'm sure I would." Susan agreed.
"So I'll see you there then?" He smiled. "It would make me happy if you did." He leaned in towards her, making her shiver at how close their bodies were.
"I guess I could come for a bit." She said finally after a little persuasion. Ringo smiled and brushed his hand over hers making her heart stop for a moment.
"Cheers Luv." He turned back to the dissolving sun. "There goes the sun."
They both watched as the sun disappeared, the darkness invading the sky. "It's beautiful," Susan whispered. Ringo glanced at her and wrapped his arm around her waist, slowly pulling her towards him.
"How many times have you watched the sunset?" Surprisingly, Susan couldn't think of a time when she paid attention to the sun at all unless it was really hot.
"Just once." Ringo looked down at her. "Tonight." She looked up at him.
"I'm glad I was there to see it." They fell into each other's eyes, their lips desperate to touch one another.
"I'm glad you were too." Came out in a small whisper. Ringo slowly leaned in, finally giving in to the urge and placed his lips against hers. Susan was taken back at first. She had finally got what she wanted and she only wanted more. Susan It was a slow soft kiss that only lasted a few moments but oh god was it magical.
Ringo slowly pulled away, his nose just about nuzzling hers. He took a breath. "I'm-" He stopped abruptly, lost for words, unable to remember how to speak properly. "I'm sorry." He forced out.
"It's ok." She whispered.
Ringo pulled his arm away. "I shouldn't have done that." He monotoned.
"Ritchie..."
"It's getting late. I'll give you a lift home." He decided.
"What?" Susan was more than confused. What had just happened? They had just had the sweetest kiss ever, the best she had ever had and now he wanted to take her home. "Ritchie, what's wrong?"
"Nothing," Ringo replied quickly. "It's just getting late that's all."
"No, it's not."
"Come on Luv, you must be gettin cold." Ringo encouraged her to walk with him to the car.
"I'm not cold."
"Just..." Ringo stopped and took a breath, maintaining his calmness. "Come on."
"What's wrong?" Susan asked again in a more forceful tone. Ringo ignored her and pulled her with him to the car. "Ringo, what's wrong?" Susan shouted.
"I've got a girlfriend!" He shouted.
