Ringo and Susan walked back over to the table with Ringo being her guide. George gave Ringo a cheeky look, implying that Ringo and Susan had done something outside.
Ringo ignored his look and helped Susan sit in her seat. "I'm ok." Susan expressed and pulled her chair in. Ringo walked around and sat in his chair.
Barbara turned to Susan, she looked even worse than her. "Hey Susie, what were you doing with Mr Ringo then?" She grinned, it was clear that Barbara was very drunk, probably even more than Susan.
"Nothing NAN-CY." Susan pronounced. "We were just getting some fresh air." Barbara scoffed and picked up her drink.
"Are you sure you haven't had enough?" George asked warningly. Barbara laughed.
"Hardly." She took a swig of the drink and put it back on the table. She looked up and smiled at George. "Actually." She paused and turned to Susan. Susan could already tell what was coming. "I think I'm gonna be sick."
Susan stood up immediately and helped Barbara up too. "Come on, we're going to the toilet."
"Are you sure you don't need any help?" George stood up. Barbara looked at George and frowned.
"We're going to the LaDiEs room George and YoU'Re not a lady." Barbara slurred.
Ringo laughed as Susan walked away with Barbara to the toilet. George sat down and sighed to himself. "Looks like you've been having fun then?" Ringo smirked. George forced a smile and took a large swig of his drink.
"You were right." George sighed. "We shouldn't have come on this date." He said as Ringo pulled out a cigarette and put it between his lips.
"What do you mean by that?" Ringo asked. "I've had a good time actually." He said, lighting his ciggie and taking a drag.
"I don't think I'm good enough for her Ring," George said sadly. After a moment of silence, he turned to Ringo, realising what his friend had just said. "Really? You like her then?"
"I never said that," Ringo replied. George smiled. He could tell that Ringo had a thing for Susan.
———
Susan locked the cubicle door as Barbara threw her guts up in the toilet and grimaced as she faced away from all the horror.
Barbara breathed for air and wiped her mouth. "You okay?" Susan asked, facing away. Barbara nodded.
"I'm good." She replied sickly. "How are you?"
"I'm ok," Susan answered and turned to Barbara.
"Well come on." Barbara smiled, sitting at the toilet. "Tell me what happened." Susan smiled.
"Nothing really." She shrugged.
Barbara grinned. "Don't worry. You can tell me. I won't remember in the morning anyway." Barbara had a point.
Susan looked down, reminiscing the short time she shared with Ringo. "We just talked."
"I'm not dumb." Barbara laughed. "What did he say?"
"It's all a bit of a blur really. I was having nici rush." Barbara rolled her eyes but before she could speak, she quickly turned back to the toilet, throwing up once more.
Susan remembered everything that had happened with Ringo but she wasn't ready to talk about it. Not yet anyway. She was still in a world of her own.
"After you finish, we're going home," Susan spoke whilst Barbara threw up.
"What?" Barbara spoke into the toilet. "No, we're not." She protested.
"Oh yes, we-"
"Susan, don't be ridiculous!" Barbara spoke abruptly and turned to Susan. "This is the date of a lifetime. Don't you-"
"Home," Susan remarked in a stubborn tone. Barbara sighed and flushed the toilet. "All done?"
Barbara nodded, taking some toilet paper and wiping her mouth. "I'm not a baby." She mumbled.
Susan smirked. "Coulda fooled me."
———
Susan and Barbara walked over to the lads. George stood up. "Are you okay, Nancy?" He asked worriedly.
Barbara nodded "I'm fine." She smiled.
"We're gonna go if that's okay," Susan said.
Ringo stood up and walked around to Susan. "We can give you two a ride if you want." Ringo offered.
"We'll be fine." Susan smiled as George helped Barbara put her coat on.
"You'll need my number then," Ringo said and pulled out a handkerchief and a pen.
"What for?" Susan asked.
"So you can call me when you get home." He said as if she should have known that.
Susan bit her lip. "Oh. Well-"
"To let me know you got home safely an all." Susan stared at him for a moment before snapping out of it and nodding.
"Yes, of course."
"Susan, are you coming?" Barbara asked from behind. She had already started walking.
Susan turned to her. "Yeah, I'll just be a minute." She said and turned back to Ringo. He was holding out his handkerchief with a load of digits written on it.
"Just to let you know." She said, taking the handkerchief. "I'm not good at remembering to do things."
"Well, give me your number then." He replied with a smirk.
"I don't have anything to write it on." Susan laughed nervously.
Ringo sighed. "Write it on the handkerchief then." He said, looking at the handkerchief.
"But-" She began.
"I'll just have to call you." He said abruptly.
Susan wrote down her number on the handkerchief and handed it back to him. "It was a pleasure." He said, taking the back of her hand and laying a soft kiss on it.
"The pleasure is all mine." Susan smiled.
Ringo watched as the girl who had captivated him in only a matter of minutes left the restaurant. He promised himself right there that he'd see her again.
