The four of us sat waiting at the dock down by the chateau hoping that eventually Sarah would show.
"So sarah just dips and doesn't call?" John B was frustrated but was also worried.
"John B i'm sure she's fine." I reassured him. I know Sarah's gonna spill the beans once she gets here.
"Yeah,man. She just left her bag. Didn't tell anybody." Pope replied back to him.
"Okay, dude I really think ward got to her. I mean, the dude tried to have me killed in jail." John B flung his arms around. Kie glared at me when he said that as if I already didn't feel guilty enough. "He sent somebody to the prison who yoked me up and almost killed me." JJ and Pope also gave me a stare.
"Cut it out." I threw a small pebble in their direction.
"What's going on?" John B asked us. "They're just being weird." I shook my head.
"Dude, I swear to God, one day i'm gonna kill that son of a bitch." John B sat down by Kie.
Kie pointed out Sarah's arrival. Topper brought her back on his boat. I looked away and turned my back just so no one said anything to me. I was gonna have to say something at some point.
Kie leaned over and whispered. "What the hell is she doing with Topper?" I just shrugged my shoulders and slightly turned my head to look over my shoulder.
Sarah jumped off the boat and hugged John B. He told her that they dropped the charges on him. "But hey listen, Sarah, they're coming after Rafe."
"Good. He's completely unhinged. He jumped me last night. That's why I didn't come back." Sarah told him, everyone shocked.
Topper looked at me before he spoke. "Yeah, man. Rafe has lost his mind. Literally almost drowned his own sister. Thankfully...I got there just in time."
"Yeah... he did." Sarah said with emphasis on he as she looked back at me, almost like she was trying to blame me for something.
That afternoon we hung out at John Bs. This was my time to talk to Sarah. I guess she was already mad because she stormed off walking away from the hammock she was in with John B.
"Hey, Sarah! Can we chat?" I asked her as I walked towards her. She nodded.
"Listen...I had no idea Rafe would be with you. I'm sorry if you felt like I betrayed you but I just want to be there for your brother. I'm glad you're okay but...Sarah he needs help. You're dad is literally tearing him apart by throwing him into this mess. All he wants is for your dad to be proud and love him. That's why i've stuck beside him because there's very few people who will." We stopped walking and stood in front of the chateau.
