CHAPTER 8

      THE TRIBES AND THE ROYALS

           “Yes, I do love her! So what? You think I have a choice?” “I do, and i will continue to think that way until you tell me why? Adam moved more closer to Arthur, “Minister Haru and my father trusted you Arthur-” “I killed my father Adam-” “Everyone but you know you didn’t.” “What do you mean?” “Think again Arthur..What happened that day?”

            The golden disc seems to be rising and rising. Veronica woke up and realised she was hugging someone’s hand, “Is that-” She saw Rainier sleeping leaning on the bed sitting on the floor. “Should I be happy? Of course I should- No! How cruel I can be why is he sleeping on the floor.” She suddenly noticed Rainier was about to wake up too, She laid back pretending to be asleep. He opened his eyes and tried to move his hand, “Ah of course-” He slowly removed his hand from her grip. “I know you are just pretending at least pretend it right, You sleep with partially opened eyes.....Love.” He ran out. “Love? Wait what? Ey no way i misheard it.”  “No you didn’t RIP my innocent eyes and ears everyone.” Kai gave her coffee and left with a disgusted face. “Yaa! Where you here all along?” “Of course I was, it’s my house.” Rainier and Veronica chocked on their coffee.

       “Brother Adam!!” Kai came running to Adam and leaned for a hug but Adam stopped by placing his finger on his head. “Oii, You should have told me.” Adam smacked Kai’s head gently. “Told you what?” “That you are Kai,” “I did.” “No like, You are Uncle Haru’s son.” “Where’s the fun in that?” Adam and Kai hugged each other. “Now tell me what help you want from me?” “Find me my father.” Kai made a straight face, He stared at Adam’s eyes with his Lagoon blue eyes. “I don’t know if he survived the-” “The ship wreck? Of course he did, I saw him here.” “Where?” “With Minister Walter.” “Help me save my father and kill that bastard who killed my mother.” “Your mother was murdered?” Rainier interrupted Kai. “By your brother and Minister.” “I didn’t do it Kai..I didn’t kill Madam Himari.” Arthur entered the room.

        “Woah that guy got some aura around himself.” Veronica whispered to Rainier. Rainier smiled at her and turned to other side, “Wow! I was today years old when I realised no matter how much you love your brother, We- No maybe just I still get jealous.” He murmured to himself. “You know Ced I can still hear you..” “I know.” “Okay...? You good? You don’t look so-” “I’m good, better than always.” “Yeah..I can see that.” Veronica and Rainier avoided eye contact and tried to focus on the important conversation.

        “Think again Kai..Was I there? When they killed your mother?” “I- I don’t know.” “I didn’t kill anyone, Kai.” “Well he is not wrong you know.”A raspy female voice. All turned to the door, “Fox? You?” she threw a knife straight at Arthur and he caught it the very moment it was inches away from his face. “Partying without me old friend?” This time it was a husky male voice. “It is you Wolf, I know it’s you stop hiding and show me that scarred face.” Arthur yelled. “Calm down..Calm down..I just want to help.” A man showed up next to the girl. They both very alike in appearance, They both had emerald eyes and dark black hair. “They look so-” “Same? Yeah they are twins of the forest.” Arthur interrupted Adam. Fox had a wolf cut and tattoos all over her right arm, Wolf had long curly hair hiding his scar across his right eyebrow. “They look like vampires.” “I know right.” Said Veronica going behind Rainier.

        “Leave!” Arthur pulled out his sword, Following him Rainier gripped his sword, Adam his bow and Kai his daggers. “We are leaving..” chuckled Wolf with his hands in the air, He was holding a letter. He placed it on the floor and kicked it towards Adam, “Here..I came to give this to you. It’s from Ezra.” Fox and Wolf left that instant.“Who were they?” Adam asked Arthur who was nearly blacked out. “Someone like God to tribes of Lorelei.” Replied Arthur.
         “Why did you even agree to help those people? It’s not gonna end good for us. They are the royals Wolf.” Fox fumed at Wolf. He grabbed her shoulders and asked, “Do you need a place we can leave peacefully? Do you?” Fox nodded her head. “You are well aware Arthur is the only person who can make that possible.” “But he isn’t the one we used to know any more.” “Trust me he is.” They both walked back to the woods.

       “Well...well..well.. The forest dogs out in the city.” Walter blocked their way. “Well..well What is this grumpy old grandpa doing in the woods blocking our way Wolf? Lost your walking stick?” Fox asked Walter. “A girl should know her limits.” “A old hag should know his territory.” He stared at her with rage, “Who did you meet?” “Non of your business.” Wolf answered. Walter noticed they were not scared at all and Walter was alone. Wolf and Fox left and he just stood there staring.

        “I trust you brother Arthur.” Kai held Arthur’s hand, Arthur stared at him with teary eyes. it was the first time in four years he heard the word trust. “Thank you Kai..” Arthur hugged Kai. On the other side Adam opened the letter, “MEET ME SOMEWHERE YOU AND I CAN REALLY DO SOMETHING IN SIMILAR.”
That’s what the letter said. “What does that mean?” Veronica asked. “I know what it means.” Adam ran out. “I don’t love her but she is still my fiancée.” Arthur made a disgusted face, Everyone laughed when Kai patted on Arthur’s shoulder out of pity.
       “I should be right.” Adam stood before the theatre. He got in through the window. “I really shouldn’t make this a habit.” Adam muttered to himself. “Yeah you shouldn’t but..you already have.” Ezra came out of the dark. “You almost gave me a heart attack.” “I know.” Said Ezra laughing.  “Why did you call me here?” “Why would people come to theatres? to enjoy performances.” “Yeah exactly I don’t see anybody performing here today..” Ezra stared at him for a moment, “You are still not gonna play for me?” “So- So this is all of this about? Waah....” He suddenly noticed she was making the face. “Oh no not this face don’t cry, Come on hold my hand.” He offered his hand and she held it. “I can’t believe you were gonna cry here like you cried in the woods..” “Okay..okay how did you know I cried in the woods?” “I- I stalked on you one last time before leaving Lorelei last time.” He said it like there was nothing wrong about it. “I- Let’s just leave this topic.” The silence filled the room for a moment. But then he lead her to the huge stage.

        “Do you like steak? No no that’s too obvious- I am going to eat from outside do you wanna join? Stop being and Idiot Rainier pull yourself together.” He muttered to himself before approaching Veronica. “June-” “Ah here you are..I was looking for you all over.” He grabbed his hand, “Actually I am hungry so come with me and buy me food.” “.....eh?” “Ced....Helloo?” She waved in front of his eyes. “Ah- Yeah yeah let’s go.” RAINIER’S POV, “PFFT- I DIDN’T EVEN HAD TO TRY..THAT WENT WELL. She snapped at his face again, “Pull yourself together come on.” She dragged him with her.

        “This time I have something for you.” Ezra gave Adam a huge box, “OhWhat’s in this?” Adam looked like a five year old boy opening Christmas presents. “Oooh it’s a music box..” He smiled at her and placed the music box on a table beside them and played it. “Adam...? What’s behind that evil smile of yours?” His smile turned to a laughter but still he tried to act cool. He put his left hand out to her slightly bowing. Ezra looked at him with a blank expression. “Aishh Girl give me that hand.” He grabbed her hand and moved to the centre of the stage. He placed her hand on his shoulder and he held her waist with one hand and they connected the hand hold their elbow up. They started dancing slowly, “Are you uncomfortable?” Adam asked, “No not at all.” She replied still not looking towards him. They danced for a long time until Ezra tripped on Adam’s leg and fell on him.

       “Ehm..Minister..” Walter turned to see Wolf standing beside him in his palace room. “We barely insulted you and you old man burn down a family in their home?” “That was barely a house.” Walter tried to hide his fear. “We burned down your Queen’s room and we are taking Queen Regina.” Walter tried to strike him with his sword but Wolf twisted his hand and cut out his finger. “You know I can kill you right now but I believe your life belongs to one of three princes.” “Old hag we are also taking Fang, Hercules and Lucifer..That horses don’t belong to you any ways.” They were about to escape the palace.
           We will meet again.......
