So I wrote this perspective of the backstory to help myself during the story but in the end I didn't use all of it in the actual story. But I don't want to throw it all away either so therefore here's a little bonus.

"You're so cool, Kacchan!" Young Izuku shouts, following Katsuki. He's always looked up to his best friend. He's full of confidence and never runs away from a fight.
"Sure am." Young Katsuki answers with a grin on his face, his pride shining bright.
"When I get my quirk, I hope it will be as good as yours. Then we'll both become heroes and save everyone!" Izuku shouts excitedly. Scribbling down his dream on a piece of paper and puts it in their self-made time capsule which they're planning on burying so they can dig it up again years later. There are some other things in the capsule already.
"Save everyone? That's stupid. You won't have to save anyone if you beat up the villain first." Katsuki answers, taking the pen from Izuku and scribbling down his plan on a piece of paper, putting it in their time capsule, too.
"Hey, Kacchan?"
"Hmm?"
"We should dig it up."
"We just buried it, it won't help if we dig it up now."
"Then we dig it up together after we've become the number one heroes."

"Hey, Kacchan?" Young Izuku asks his best friend, who had almost fallen asleep. They're having a sleepover in a tent in Izuku's garden.
"Hmm?"
"When I become a hero, I'll save everyone with a smile on my face, just like All Might."
"You've told me that a thousand times already. And I'll become a hero who will beat every villain, like All Might, no one will have to be saved when there's no villain to threaten them." Young Katsuki answers, still a bit sleepy.
"I know. But when I am busy saving everyone, will you save me if I get in trouble?" Izuku asks, being sleepy himself. Katsuki, however is now wide awake thanks to this question.
"Of course, I'll always protect you when you're in trouble." He answers, a smile forms on Izuku's face.
"Thanks." He says, then falls asleep.

"Did you hear?" "Izuku is quirkless." "What a weirdo." Rumours spread around the classroom easily and Katsuki hears it before Izuku had the chance of telling him himself.
Katsuki thought they were just rumours, no truth to them. As he wrings himself through the crowd of classmates, he sees Izuku sitting paralysed in the middle of the staring faces and realises the rumours all true.
Izuku is quirkless. He can't become a hero. He'll die if he tries to become a hero. Katsuki can't look after someone who's bound to get himself killed in every small battle. Izuku can't become a hero, Katsuki has to stop him from becoming one. He'll become a hero for both of them, but he can't let Izuku follow the same path.

"You see, you can read this as 'De-ku'. You see that, Deku. You're worthless."

"You're just a quirkless nobody."

"You're just some wannabe, you'll never be a real hero."

"Forward march and here we go, members of the agency Ba-ku-gou." Katsuki says, but slips and falls down into the lake. He can get up easily though. It hurts a bit, but if he wants to become a hero, he can't be startled by this little pain. "Kacchan! Are you okay?" He hears a voice, as he looks up, he sees Deku offering him a hand, he slams it away. He can take care of himself, he won't let himself be helped by Deku or he'll get the delusion that he can actually help people without a quirk, the delusion that he could actually become a hero without a quirk. He can't, he has to teach him that the hard way.

Why is shitty Deku still following him around? Why is he still trying to become a hero? It's been years, sure it will be obvious by now that that's a delusion! They'll almost graduate from middle school and he's still trying to get into U.A. high school. When will the truth get through to him? Does he really need to knock it into him? Is that what it takes?!
Katsuki rips Deku's stupid notebook out of his hands, looking at him with pure disgust. He's so happy, so full of himself, but he can't become a hero, why does he keep trying?
Some of the extras walk up to him, asking him what he just took from the nerd, so he shows them. "Hero analysis for the future." one of The extras reads out loud, then both extras start laughing. Katsuki doesn't laugh though, he hates the fact that the nerd is still trying.
"Give it back!" Izuku stutters, but Katsuki isn't done with it and uses his quirk to ruin the book, then throws it out of the window. That will teach him.
"Most top first-string heroes have stories about them from their school days. I want the shine of being able to be called the only student to make it into U.A. from this mediocre city junior high school. I mean, I am a perfectionist." Katsuki then starts rambling about some stupid lie. Of course, he wishes Deku could be by his side, if only he had a quirk. But since he has no quirk, is powerless, and only has this stupid smile with which he keeps looking down on him, he has no choice but to rub everything in. He has to make this very clear. He puts his hand on Izuku's shoulder, using his quirk to burn his shoulder up a bit. "So anyway, don't apply to U.A., nerd." He says, loud and clear. It should be obvious by now, everything should be obvious. Izuku can't become a hero, he shouldn't strive to be one, he can't apply to U.A..
He then walks away, leaving the trembling nerd alone. Extra one and two tease him some more, telling him he can't face reality. Katsuki is fine with that, it might be easier for him to face reality if multiple people tell him. Without thinking, to throw some more downgrading words to him, Katsuki says something he will regret til the day he dies: "If you wanna be a hero so badly, there's a quick way to do it: Pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off of the roof of the building."

The shitty nerd made it into U.A.. how did the shitty nerd make it into U.A.?! No one quirkless could pull that off. And these rumours about him using some power jump, taking down one of the zero-pointers, what is that supposed to mean? He never had a quirk, he'll never have a quirk, what the hell is going on? This must be some sort of joke, some weird prank, he must've cheated. This can't be happening, Deku can't become a hero, after everything he's done trying to prevent him from getting killed, he can't let him become a hero!

Bullying, bullying, bullying. He keeps doing it, why? He doesn't know. Even after witnessing Deku's quirk firsthand. Even after seeing that he's indeed able to become a hero, he keeps bullying the nerd. Taking his frustration out on him. If he had a quirk all this time, why didn't he tell him? If he had a quirk all this time, why didn't he fight back? If he had a quirk all this time, why was he such a loser? Why? Why? Why? Why isn't anything adding up?! Nothing is adding up! If he had a quirk all this time, why did he let him bully him, why didn't they go back to being friends, why couldn't they just be friends? It's too late for that now, it's too late for apologies on either side. They're each other's nemesis now, bound to surpass each other. He'll become the number one hero and proof to Deku that he wasn't needed for that. Then Deku can go back to being a quirkless nobody looking up to him, that's what is going to happen, and nothing else. He's going to win this war. He won't lose to this nerdy nobody, he refuses.
