[Later on that night]
Li Mei and Kenji were walking home, Kenji had his arms around Li Mei's shoulders helping her up the road, it was calm, quiet but also dark. The one thing that Li Mei did not like was the dark, especially what was IN the dark, but due to her exhaustion and tiredness she didn't bother to complain nor panic, she already caused enough trouble for Kenji, she doesn't want to be anymore of a pain to him. Kenji looked relaxed, he's been outside in the night many times when he was younger and knew many defensing fight skills and tricks in case of danger and defended himself and his old wife. He still missed his old wife from years ago, remembering how they met, how Li Mei's mother was soon born and how she passed, Kenji loved her dearly, but then all he had left, were his daughter and soon to be born granddaughter, Li Mei. After a few more minutes of walking, Li Mei had finally fallen asleep, her dragging her feet and stumbling trying to walk but eventually, she did, falling forward, Kenji gasping and grabbing her by her shoulders and holding her up on her feet, her looking sleepy and tired, ready to have some relief of resting on something, either the ground or a comfy and warm bed, a pillow under her head and blankets wrapped around her.

Kenji held her in his arms and ran back to the house, it wasn't too far since it was on a hill down the road near the city, who knew that an old monkey, can run so quick. When they finally reached the house, they saw that it was like before Kenji left to find his granddaughter, neat yet so small, but had space on the inside. He stopped running and walked onto the porch and opened the door, holding his staff by his tail and with Li Mei in his arms, he looked around the room, seeing just like how it was before he left except...something wasn't right. Kenji caught the scent of something..or someone, he recognized the smell and it immediately clicked to him. "Macaque..." he thought, then he heard a creak from the kitchen, he gently put Li Mei on the couch and went to the kitchen holding his stick and ready to fight what threat was in there, and what he saw was...nothing. "What..." he whispered under his breath, looking confused, but then he heard chuckling from the living room, he left Li Mei in the room! He quickly ran into the living room and saw Macaque hovering over Li Mei and watching her sleep, smiling widely, almost creepy like. Then in one swift motion he felt his side being hit hard with a stick and he stumbled a bit to the side grunting, but then chuckling. "Stay away from her...DEMON..." Kenji said coldly to Mac, making him laugh and hold his side where he was hit. "Hi old fool....we meet again! how are you not dea-?" Kenji cut him off, "Enough..leave my home, and leave my granddaughter...NOW.." Kenji spoke again, growing angry and gritting his teeth, making Mac chuckle and laugh. "Wow...you still got some good hits old fool....hehehehehe...." Mac then poofed into purple mist and smoke, appearing behind the old monkey, making Kenji quickly turning around, "wanna see mine?" the monkey said in a creepy tone while smiling insanely, making Kenji's eyes widen and quickly back up before Mac could hit him, Mac then sprinted towards him making his claws spout out his finger tips and try to scratch and claw the old monkey, but Kenji kept trying to dodge every hit. "Macaque...why must you be like this..I know what happened to you..but violence and revenge will never solve the problems you face-" Kenji spoke to Mac but only was cut off by the angry black furred monkey before him. "Shut up!!!" Swinging his claws at him more grunting and yelling, determined to get another scar on Kenji's body.

Kenji held up his stick, dodging and defending himself at every swing or hit of the angry monkey, backing up for room but then heard Li Mei groan from all the noise and looked at her quickly, seeing her move a bit on the couch and almost seem like she's about to wake up, "You shouldn't have gotten distracted....sensei.." Mac spoke in a cold and menacing tone, kicking Kenji in his gut and sending him flying across the room up against the wall, making him cough and hack and hold his stomach from the impact. He was shaking a bit, holding his gut from the pain and grunting, trying to get back up from getting hurt, until he saw Mac going near Li Mei again, making his claws go back to normal and resting his hand on the arm of the chair, looking at her in her sleep. she opened her eyes a bit but her vision was too blurred from waking up, but she slipped back into rest from the short silence, thinking that it was Kenji but was only the threat of an old memory. "rrrrrrrrrRRRRRRAAAAAGH!!!" Kenji screamed, punching Macaque hard in the face making him go flying and landing on his side and grunting a bit. He picked up his stick and stood over Mac, holding the stick close to his face and snarled, but stayed calm and collected. "You should leave Macaque...you aren't welcomed here....I'm sorry..but it is for the best for my granddaughter to be safe and away from you.." Kenji spoke to Mac, making him laugh and getting up with a smile. "Alright...I guess I'll leave old fool..but know this..when you have your guard down..I'll be ready...hehehehe..!" Mac said under his breath, chuckling more.

Kenji tried to grab him but Mac poofed into a purple smoke and completely vanished, his laugh echoing in the room. Kenji felt angry but was more worried about his granddaughter than an angry old student..he heard Li Mei waking up and quickly looked at her gasping and rushing to her. Li Mei yawned and saw Kenji watching over her making sure that Mac didn't do anything to her. "Uhhh..grandpa??? You ok?? You look crazy.." the girl said jokingly and then chuckling a bit. "You ok pop?" She asked again, but this time a bit worried for Kenji. Kenji smiled a bit and backed up keeping his composure, "Why yes my granddaughter..I'm completely fine..it's just..it's been a rough night and I tried to do all I could to protect you from danger so..I put you on the couch where I can see you.." the old monkey spoke, making Li Mei awe with a small smile on her face. "Aww..grandpa, it's ok! I can take care of myself.." she said but Kenji only shook his head slowly in disagreement. "No my grandchild..I made a vow to keep you safe when your care was brought into my hands..and besides, you still have alot of training to do..it's only time before you grow into a master of the arts..like me" Kenji said making the girl sigh and smile a bit more, "Alright grandpa..I'll train! To protect you too you know! Your getting old..it's only time until you don't have the strengths to fight back when in battle..you might get hurt.." Li Mei said, Kenji chuckled and patted her shoulder, trying to reassure her that he would be ok. "Alright then my granddaughter..maybe when I do need some protection I'm sure that you'll come in handy.." he said chuckling.

The two chuckled and laughed from they're remarks until a loud yawn was heard, silencing the laughter. Kenji flinched a bit and looked at Li Mei surprised, she looked sleepy and tired once again, yawning and stretching out her arms. Kenji smiled a bit and took her to bed. "Come now my granddaughter..you have training tomorrow, you need lots of rest to have enough energy to train" Kenji spoke, helping Li Mei make it to her room, her talking a bit tiredly as she walked, "A-Alright..grandpa.." when they finally made it to her room, Li Mei went into her room; saying goodnight to her grandfather and closing her bedroom door, getting ready for bed and hopping into her bed snuggling and nuzzling against the pillow from how soft it is. She soon fell asleep and rested for the rest of the night, getting all the sleep she could, while Kenji was outside meditating and breathing in and out, trying to calm himself from what happened, his stick beside him in his grasp if there's any trouble and his eyes closed, deep in his thoughts. His worry soon started to grow, starting to invade his thoughts, thinking of all the things that could happen to his granddaughter, the only thing he had left, and worse, the person behind it. Macaque wasn't always bad but was drove to those limits, but Kenji took no risks in revenge, it just didn't work with him, but now that Mac is away..for now...Li Mei is safe, well..at least lets hope so. Kenji only ignored his worry, and focused on tomorrow, for it is when she starts back on training. The rest of the night was peaceful, quiet, but there is always ONE thing..to disturb the peace.
