•Chapter 24• {|Tales Of The Past|} •Pt.2•

It was the next morning, everyone was sleeping in as the sun was beginning to rise, the sunlight slowly shining through the windows of the house. Kenji and everyone was mostly sleeping in the living room and in the few rooms of his house and them sleeping soundly to the silence. As the sun began to fill Li's room, she groaned and began to wake, yawning like a cat awake from its napping. As she began to get out of bed she felt her ankle feel more straightened out and less painful, that's when she realized her ankle was healed and she gasped, checking it to make sure and smiled. "My ankle! It healed...!" She said quietly as she hopped out of bed and sneaked out to investigate the house since she was the only one awake. She crept around the corridor and peeked into the living room, seeing everyone asleep and out from being up all night and resting soundly. She chuckled a bit but then heard her grandfather's voice from next to her. "I see that you are awake now my dear..." Kenji spoke, making the girl yelp and jump a bit, quickly turning to him startled. "A-Ah! Grandpa! You scared me...!" She whispered, Kenji only chuckles in amusement and looked at her, "So, why are you up so early my dear?" Asked the old monkey, Li looked back at him and spoke. "I was just creeping around since everyone is asleep...well except you!" she said but then saw Kenji looking unnerved at a picture that was on the wall across from the two, Li following his gaze and looking at the picture, it revealing to be a young and black furred monkey, him smiling and having longer hair. "Whoa...who's that grandpa??? A friend...are you ok??? Why do you look so anxious..???" She asked in confusion and worry, Kenji sighing and then looking grieved, turning to the living room and going to the couch. "My dear, may I share something with you..?" Asked the old monkey as he sat down, Li looking yet again confused but went along with it and sat beside him. "Of course grandpa! You can talk to me, I've always confessed stuff to you that's been bothering me, it's ok..." she spoke softly and sympathetically to the old monkey, him looking back at her with a smile but then looked yet again grieved. Then he spoke, "The monkey that you saw in the picture was not a relative or family member....that monkey was Macaque..." Li eyes went wide and she gasped and immediately grew anxious. "T-That's MACAQUE?!-" she screamed but was bonked on the head with her grandfather's stick by Kenji, the old monkey shushed her loudly but showed compassion afterwards, "Ow....s-sorry grandpa! I forgot that you can still do that.." Li whimpered as she rubbed her head. "Yes my child but that isn't the point..Macaque wasn't always a monster...in fact, he used to be a kind and sweet monkey who ONLY wanted to fit in..but when I first met Macaque, it was not a monkey I saw but a beast..." Kenji spoke, going into his past once again and explaining the mystery of Macaque, Li listening in.

{Kenji's POV}
It was years later after the defeat of DBK, my lovely wife and child was safe in our new home. Peace was brought back at the village and now that the horror was finally over, we was free. My little Yan Ling was playing with a cardboard sword in the main halls of the home, she loved sword fighting, the little thing was a barbaric little blessing. Anyways, me and my darling was enjoying the day with tea and chitchat, until...it happened. We heard a loud explosion and millions of screams from a part of the village, everyone running in the opposite direction of the explosion, but...the explosion wasn't nuclear or made from a bomb...it was purple and made of a misty like smoke and there was a figure in the mists of the smoke, various wrappings whipping violently at everyone and everything around it, more of the monkeys in the village crying for help and scattering to safety. I never saw anything like it, but when the smoke cleared, I saw a giant beast emerged from the mist, it screeching and it's wrappings hitting everything around it. I was shocked, that's when I quickly grabbed my wife and went to find my daughter but it was far too late, I saw Yan Ling stranding around confused and scared, "YAN!!!-" I cried out to her but was cut off by an explosion in the roof of the home, then I saw the eye of the beast peeking through, then it looked at me...my wife screamed in horror and immediately tried to get Yan but I stopped her and tried to calm her down and get her, quickly running to get the blade I used to kill the Demon Bull King. But sadly before I could, the beast screeched and a wrapping snatched me up, violently whipping me against the wall and crashing me deep into it. I screamed and my wife shrieked, worried sickly for me and looking terrified, she then immediately grabbed my child and tried to call me, she then saw me bleeding ad bruised, coughing from the smoke and being crushed, "K-KENJI!!!" She screamed, I heard her and immediately looked at her, I then shouted back. "M-My love! Do what we have planned! Get my blade and leave for safety! Make sure our daughter is safe!" She then looked serious and immediately new the instructions, picking up Yan and dashing to my room to grab the blade, Yan crying out to me in sadness and fear. "Shhhh my child...your father will be ok, don't worry..I'm here!" My wife said in distress as she grabbed my blade and returned to me, she saw me being taken by the beast but she took off the cover off my sword and threw it at the monster, it going straight into its back, it screeched in pain and let me go, me falling onto a rooftop in pain but was able to get up but was weak due to my injuries, the monster looked back at my wife and child, as if it wanted to kill, it then whipped one of its wrappings at them but my wife screamed and barely missed it, running away to escape but was stopped when she was yanked up by the wrappings, dropping Yan in a panic.
