N-"Okay Betty I need you to push on your next contraction"
B-"No, I can't do it" (faint)
I had been pushing for almost 30 minutes and there was still no baby.
N-"Come on Betty, just a few more pushes then the baby will be here, okay?"
B-"O-Okay"
My next contraction started and I pushed as hard as I could, I squeezed Jughead's hand and soon I heard the whaling cries of my baby fill the room.
D-"It's a girl!"
The doctor held her up. I looked at her through my blurry vision, the tears started to rush down my cheeks. They took her over and placed her on my chest. I cried with her, I didn't even care that I looked like a hot mess, all I cared about was my daughter that laid on my chest. They took her away to get all of her test done then brought her back, wrapped in her small swaddle. She had stopped crying when she was placed in my arms.
B-"Hi baby girl" (sniffles)
D-"Do we have a name for this angel?"
B-"Harper, Harper Smith"
D-"Beautiful name" (smiles)
B-"Thank you"
I smiled back before my attention was turned to my baby girl in my arms. She was just starting to open her eyes, her big beautiful green eyes. She started to looked around at the world. I kissed her forehead and rocked her slowly while crying tears of joy.
N-"Okay, well we're going to take Harper away for some quick test while we bring you to your room"
B-"Okay"
The nurse took Harper from me and took her out of the room while another nurse wheeled me into a room.
The room was a very nice one, it had a small bed for Harper right next to mine, a small pullout couch and a few other necessities.
She helped me into the bed and soon Jughead walked in and sat down beside me with a bouquet of flowers and a teddy bear.
B-"How'd you know roses are my favorite flower?"
I smiled and smelt the beautiful flowery sent that I loved.
J-"Well, I saw your tattoo, and I just... took a guess" (chuckles"
B-"Oh yeah, that" (giggles)
J-"And I got Harper a teddy bear"

B-"I think that's a bunny" (chuckles)
J-"Well it can be Harper's first bunny" (smiles)
I giggled and took the bunny in my hand as the door opened and the nurse walked in holding Harper.
N-"I think she's hungry"
I smiled and she brought Harper over to me then laid her in my arms.
N-"Are you going to breastfeed?"
B-"Yes"
She explained to me how to breastfeed and then she helped me start to feed Harper. Yet as soon as my breast was out of my shirt Jughead shot up and turned his head.
J-"I-uh I-I'm gonna go get something from the cafeteria"
B-(chuckles)"Okay"
I watched as he left but then I saw the patch on the back of his leather jacket... the south side serpents. My breathe hitched before I turned my attention back down to Harper.
