All A Lie part 32

B-"Harp, stay right here for a second"

H-"Okay!"

I got up and walked over to Pop who was at the register.

B-"Hey Pop, I hear that you're hiring...is there anyway I could get an interview?"

P-(smiles)"Sure! But I won't be the one interviewing you. The manger, Veronica Lodge, will be interviewing you"

B-"Okay. Is Veronica here? I'd love to meet her"

P-"She's spending tonight with her family, tonight's her and her husband's fifth wedding anniversary so I decided to give her the night off. But she'll be here tomorrow if you'd like to come in around 3?"

B-"Sure, that's perfect, I'll see you tomorrow"

P-(smiles)"Have a good night"

B-"You too"

As I walked away I sighed. I didn't have any professional clothes, I only had my waitressing uniform, and that was just a black button up with a matching pair of black skinny jeans. And I would have to shower, and have a place to sleep. Hopefully there was a hotel room available.

B-"Harper, come on baby. We're going to the hotel"

H-"Okay!"

She grabbed her drawing and threw her backpack over her back. I payed the check and put my purse into backpack, so while Harper and I were walking my purse wasn't shown. I then zipped up my backpack and threw it over my back then threw my duffle bag over my shoulder before taking Harper's hand and walking out of the diner with a wave from Pop.

We then walked down to the hotel down the road. I mentally prayed that they had a room available. Thankfully, they did. I got my room key and we went over to the elevator and went to the floor our room was on before walking out and down the hall to our room. I opened the door and Harper let go of my hand and ran straight in and jumped on the bed.

H-"I like this" (giggles)

B-(giggles)"You're so cute"

H-"I know"

B-"And a lot like daddy"

She smiled then jumped into her arms and her knee went into my stomach. I moved her so she was positioning differently.

H-"Oh, sorry mommy"

B-"It's okay baby, you just have to be a little gentle with mommy"

H-"Why?"

I was debating on telling her about the baby. If she was happy, I would feel so bad if I had a miscarriage. But she would start asking questions when my belly grew...and I would have to tell her eventually, so why not just do it now.

B-"Because...mommy has a baby in her belly"

H-"Really?!"

B-"Yeah! You're gonna have a baby sister or brother"

H-"Baby sister!"

B-(giggles)"Well we don't know if it's a girl or a boy yet"

H-"Can it be both!"

B-(chuckles)"Yes, it can be both"

H-"I want a sister and a brother"

I smiled and ran my hand through the hair of my beautifully innocent daughter. She was so amazing and was too good for this world. She didn't deserve this, she deserved to be in a comfy house hold with a yard to run around.

B-"Well, we'll have to see if it's a boy or a girl. Now let's go get your pj's on"

H-"Okay"

I got up and grabbed her pj's then changed her into them. She then got her stuffed bunny that she slept with ever since Jug got it for her in the hospital when she was born.

H-"Daddy always reads me a bedtime story before I go to sleep...can you read me one, please?"

B-"Sure"

I got out one of the books then climbed into the bed next to her and she snuggled into my chest while I opened the book.

B-"And then the caterpillar turned into a butterfly and flew away"

I looked down and saw her fast sleep. I slowly closed the book and got up then changed into my pajamas before getting back into bed next to her and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.
