EPILOGUE: THE CHOSEN ONE

For years, I've only seen dancing as a sense of comfort when I'm having a hard time in life or even in my studies. Dancing is a form of art that gives you freedom, I always believed that if you're smiling while dancing freely... what is the point of dancing, really?

It is something you must enjoy, it takes time to completely fall for it. But I think from the moment I began dancing, it was a love-at-first-sight immediately.

Mabilis, masarap, matamis, at malalim. It was everything, it was something I knew I would never let go of because it's something I love. I don't think I could ever live without dancing at least once a day, you know?

I tied my hair up in a ponytail and checked myself once again in the mirror, checking if I look presentable enough to show the world that I can dance and that I... truly love this art, that I love what I do, because I do.

"Diana--" muntik na 'kong mahulog nang marinig ko yung malakas na boses ni Yael sa likod ko, tumakbo naman ako agad sa kanya at tinakpan ang bibig niya.

"Yael naman..." bulong ko sa kanya.

Our eyes met and even without pulling my hand on the half of his face, I could tell how wide and excited the smile he had drawn on his lips. He looked too excited, but it's somewhat one of the few things that I adore about him.

"Pasenhaya-" tinanggal ko ang kamay ko sa may bibig niya at tsaka siya nagsalita ulet.

"Pasensya na, Diana. 'Di kasi ako mapakali, I'm too excited. You're performing again, and this time it's in front of the new performing arts major students! Isn't it exciting?"

His smile is so fucking beautiful, his eyes are sparkling and I swear I am this close to just pulling his gorgeous face of his and kissing him right here right now.

But no. I can't do that, nanliligaw pa rin siya sa'kin. Baka mamaya, hahalikan ko siya pagkatapos ni'to.

Right now, it's the orientation for new performance major students, most importantly, freshmen. Napili ako nang professor ko dahil sa mga 'impressive' ko raw na mga performance every year and every test, I was honored but at the same time kabado ako.

Malaking oportunidad 'to, pag nagkamali ako siguradong hindi maganda ang magiging imahe ng dance department kaya kailangan perpekto ang lahat. I decided to do modern dance for this one, it's something that everyone knows and quite exquisite.

Ilang taon ko rin sinubukang pag-aralan ang modern dance because my genre is mostly hip-hop, ilang paa at binti ang nasaktan ko at mga boto na nasira, but hey... I did it!
