CHAPTER FIFTEEN: SECRETLY

He doesn't understand. He doesn't. He doesn't at all. He's been confused before, there were some things he couldn't figure out just like Math equations or other projects at school, but at least he could get to the answers, he could find them.

But why is it that it feels like he'll never find out the answer to Diana? He'll never know where she is, what she's been up to, how busy she is right now... or anything, really, when it comes to her! He needs an answer from her, a reply, a single text, anything!

She hasn't talked to him. He doesn't even remember when was it, does it matter? Because what matters to him is to see her again, to talk to her. He'd thought that maybe she's been busy but this is completely different, she didn't talk to him at all. She never came out either and say 'hello' or visited during their study time together with him and his brothers.

So what is... it? What had happened? What is it? What had he done? What had he done to make her ignore him? He doesn't even know if she's really ignoring him because he hasn't seen her.

"Ryland."

"Yes, kuya?"

He sat next to his younger brother while trying to hide this tension inside his chest, he's been telling himself to calm down because there is nothing wrong after all. This is all nothing, just nothing.

"Busy ka ba?"

"Nope, may kailangan ka po ba?"

"May... may gusto lang akong itanong sa'yo."

"Sige, ano yo'n?" Ryland asks, closing his book as he brings his full attention to his brother.

"Is... Diana... alright? Ang ibig kong sabihin... k-kamusta siya?' he couldn't remember the last time he'd felt something like this, this tension, he couldn't believe that he was this nervous by just talking about her.

"She is. Naging busy lang talaga siya, she's... been in a lot of pressure lately, since nung January pa. Since yata nung simula nang klase... bakit?"

Yael thought about it. The last time he had seen her was in December, he can still remember her face and what she wore at that time. Her white dress just above her knees and her nude heels that fit her entire aura, and... and... the way she wore her hair into a tight bun.

God, she was absolutely stunning. He heard that she had a performance for her department, unfortunately, he wasn't able to watch it but he tried to return to the performance center only to see her receiving an award for her performance.

He knew she was already stunning, but it was completely different with that smile on her face as she enjoyed staring at her award, cherishing every moment.

She's brighter, stunning, beautiful... just completely something else. He couldn't even believe it, he couldn't believe that the sun itself can even get brighter than before, until now.

But then he'd never seen her after that. And now, he wished... he just wished to see her again.

"I'm just... you know--"

"Miss mo siya, 'no?"

"I-- No? No? No... I didn't say that--"

"Sure, kuya. Bakit ka magtatanong tungkol sa kanya kung hindi mo siya namimiss?"
