CHAPTER ELEVEN: BEST DECISION

" my heart told me to do it, and I did. "

"I missed you."

Three words, ten letters, but it was enough to drive his heart crazy. It wasn't even enough and Diana added more.

"I really missed you. I really fucking missed you... so fucking much..."

In his years of being in love with his step-sister, it was his first time experiencing a new feeling he never knew existed inside his chest. His heart began to beat like crazy and he was shaking, couldn't quite shake up what this feeling was but one thing he knew was that this feeling felt right to him.

It was right. Perhaps because it was Diana, because it was her and not anyone else.

But God... God, what is this feeling? So new yet so right? Their faces are inches away from clashing and it was also driving him crazy, he was curious, he wanted to know what would happen if he leaned even closer to her.

But at the back of his mind, he couldn't and shouldn't. His mind started asking him questions if he was truly ready for what would come out next if their lips met, and so he didn't.

"Diana..."

Diana's eyes widen when she heard him call her name, it wasn't because he called her name but it was the way his voice shook and his tone lowered than usual.

"Yael... uhm..."

It's not just her words, her eyes, her lips, or how close they are but it's now her presence, the warmth of her body against his. Their bodies aren't even touching and yet it bothers him, he wants to be closer to her and hold her, it was this... it was this feeling.

"Are you done... eating?"

"Yeah, yeah." he stands up and quickly threw away the leftover food without even thinking about anything, anything except her.

"Baka kanina pa nila tayo hinihintay..." Diana smiles, trying to keep her heart down because it was beating too damn hard fast.

"Yeah... yeah..."

Yael couldn't speak properly, he didn't know at the moment, especially when his chest is too tight for him to breathe.

"Yael." Diana looks at him and once again, their eyes met.

"Yes... D-Diana..." he stutters, Diana was too busy calming herself down to even notice.

"Can... I hold your hand?"

"Baliw ka?"

"Hinde, baliw lang sa kuya mo."

Narinig ko ang mura ni Ryland sa sagot ko, hindi siya makapaniwala na nagbabalik ang dating Diana na walang tigil sa pag-amin kung gaano niya kagusto si Yael. He was happy that I'm acting like myself again pero of course hindi siya masaya kasi alam niya kung paano ako umakto pagdating sa kapatid niya.

I've come back to my old self, my last year self. Ang daming nangyari nung intramurals kaya mas lalo lang akong namotivate na mapalapit kay Yael. I asked if I could hold his hand and he let me hold his hand, and so... we held hands throughout the whole game.
