"Rafe's."Sarah looked down, then back at us and straight at me "alive."she whispered I sucked my teeth nodding turning away from the roof. "Hey, hey. Ruby, let's just forget about Rafe today, ok? We'll go out to the marsh and enjoy this nice day, we'll have fun, forget everyone and everything, all our problems, will get pushed to the side today."JJ held my shoulders looking me in the eyes, I nodded "yeah, were gonna have a good day, in the marsh."I forced a smile "aight, let's go. John B Pope held me grab some beers and shit."JJ clapped his hands running inside with the two boys I went over to Kie and Sarah on the boat. "How you doing?"Sarah asked as we all sat on the seats "better, seeing Rafe, in pain, bleeding out, just, I don't know, made me feel a lot better."I shrugged "sounds weird, but it did."I nodded "yeah, I understand."Sarah nodded smiling softly "got the beers! Let's get this thing started!"JJ yelled as the three idiots ran down the dock hopping into the boat, Pope driving it JJ and I goofing off on the front of the bus. Soon enough we were standing in front of each other, pushing each other's shoulders on the tip of the boat, first to fall in looses. Don't worry Pope stopped the boat. I went to hit JJ's left shoulder causing him to push his right shoulder out which I hit with ease and strength, he swung his arms in the air as he fell backwards into the water "cheater!"he yelled we all laughing "no I think she won't fair and square, sorry JJ."John B tossed me a beer, which I shot gunned throwing the can down throwing my arms up, I squealed when something grabbed my ankle pulling me back into the water, when I resurfaced I immediately started yelling at JJ while the gang laughed. "Calm down cupcake."JJ smiled I splashed him before climbing up onto the boat "hey I think your hair just got a tiny bit wet."John B smiled as I walked past him, I didn't look at him but I flipped him off. My eyes were glued to the cooler in desperate need of a beer.
"Today, was a really good day."I smiled we were all sitting in the hammock's, well John B and Sarah shared one while JJ and I shared one and Pope and Kie sat in chairs in between the two hammock's. "It was."JJ smiled sniffing my hair I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows "that was weird."I whispered laughing a bit he glared at me "hey, ugh RJ, I was thinking, tomorrow maybe you could go to the sheriffs office and tell them your alive."John B spoke up "what, so they can arrest me? Maybe after my name's cleared I will."I chuckled "the thing is, we have easy access to your name being cleared though."Pope said a smile threatened to break out "really? How?"I asked sitting up some JJ groaned as his head fell "Gavin made a tape, declaring who the killer was, he made the tape just in case something happened to him and as predicted, something happened to him."Pope explained "well shit, where is the tape?"I asked "the thing is, we don't exactly have it."Pope sighed I groaned laying back making JJ groan once more "wait, do you hear that?"I asked looking over at the radio noticing it was talking and the music cut off "the tragic death of sheriff Peterkin, and famous Vincent and Emma black's daughter, Ruby Black, made the town go quiet, as Ruby had been framed for the sheriffs death, tonight they have cleared her name and declared Rafe Cameron, the cold blooded killer. They have already arrested him just moments ago. But he is in bad shape from multiple bullet wounds, someone must've took this killing personal."the lady on the radio said we all shared looks I jumped up we were all cheering and hugging "your clear!"Kie yelled "I'm not on the run anymore!"I yelled "whoo!"John B yelled his fists in the air while he turned to the ocean behind his house I yelped when JJ picked me up hugging my waist tightly and spinning me around numerous times "your free."JJ smiled setting me down and pulled me into about everyone else was still cheering while JJ and I smiled widely staring into each other's eyes next thing I know we're both leaning in and the others stopped and stared at us the four started yelling again when JJ finally closed the space between us smashing his lips onto mine, the kiss was long, and passionate, and honestly one of the best kisses I've ever had, I mean the night of truth or dare when I practically made out with him it was amazing but this, when we both want the kiss and are putting our feelings into it, it's amazing.
