A lot had changed since Stiles last spoke to Lydia. He knew that she had been avoiding him at all costs since their last late night talk. He despised the tension that it had created between them whenever they were in a room together, he prayed that it wasn't as obvious to everybody else. It appeared as though a new found hatred had developed between the two, and this time it was real. The tension had turned sour quickly and had become anger and jealousy filled. He wasn't even completely sure where it had all come from but it was a lot to deal with when Zoe was there. Him and Lydia being in the same room was like an atom bomb ready to explode and he wouldn't be surprised if everyone else could feel the tension too.

Stiles and Zoe had been dating for awhile now and his family had got used to her being around. He had to admit she was amazing, she really was, but it always felt like something was off. Stiles was often worried that she suspected foul play with him and Lydia. He wasn't completely sure why but she would often stare at Lydia with a look that he was sure held a threat. Zoe would often become all over him when Lydia was around which was like a massive claim of him. Stiles hated it most of the time, he barely ever saw Lydia look and react but when he did he saw a quick glimpse of pure pain and anger flashing in her glossy eyes which only made his heart hurt more.

Stiles woke up groggily and quickly hopped out of bed. He turned his phone on and noticed the time; it was 5am. It was definitely earlier than he usually woke up and he was sure what had woke him up in the first place but he decided that it was the perfect time to use the bathroom. He hastily threw on some baggy grey shorts, leaving his torso bare, he figured that no one would be really up at this time on a Monday. Before heading through his door, he took one last glance at Zoe who was sound asleep and gave her a small kiss on her forehead which made her stir slightly. He quickly but quietly headed downstairs to the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

After finishing his pee he washed his hands, taking a glance at his reflection in the mirror while he did so, he cringed internally at his face. The lack of sleep he was having recently was really starting to take its toll on his eyes. He was quickly dragged out of his thoughts as he heard some floorboards creaking from outside and people talking, but he couldn't place what it was. He slowly left the bathroom, making sure to make as minimal noise as possible. In the landing, the voices got louder and he could now distinguish that they were from Jackson's room. The hushed whispers soon turned into yelling as he could hear Lydia and Jackson arguing. He hovered outside the door, placing his ear against it as gently as he could.

He could hear Lydia begin to sob through her protests as her voice became cracked and unstable. "J-Jackson please stop I don't know w-what you're talking about! There is nothing going on with me and Aiden." She protested sadly. "Well how the fuck do you explain Friday? I saw you two in class you was all over each other!" Jackson yelled back in frustration. Stiles heard a slight bang, which he quessed was Jackson hitting something and Lydia whimpering at the loud noise.

"No Jackson please listen we had to sit next to each other, Mr Harris had made us Lab partners and I promise I didn't say a word to him." She whined back, sadness and worry filling her voice. "BULLSHIT LYDIA. I'm so sick of your shit honestly I really deserve better. Now fuck off im getting fed up of seeing you right now!." Jackson yelled back harshly. A small sniff could be heard from Lydia before she spoke. "B-but...it's so early and I-I'm so tired where do you want me to go?"she sobbed hard. "I don't care."

Stiles was shocked and quickly filling with anger. His urge to protect Lydia was building up as he imagined her grovelling at Jackson's feet just for some human decency. Stiles heard some light footsteps behind the door and quickly backed away from it but it was too late, the wooden door creaked open and Lydia crawled out pathetically. She was wearing a big oversized white t shirt and some fluffy socks on her feet. She stumbled out into the dark landing, her socks slipping slightly on the wooden floor before she spotted Stiles.
