Chapter 24

3rd Person Point of View

Back in Ruby's House, the three were getting ready to sleep. They have different rooms since they agreed that they should have atleast some form of privacy.

Ruby was still down stairs as she wasn't really sleepy, maybe an hour of sharpening her scythe might make her fall asleep.

"Aren't you gonna sleep yet?" Guinevere asked who was walking up the stair case.

"No, I'm not really sleepy. Plus we don't have to go to the Academy tomorrow." Ruby said as she was still sharpening her scythe.

"Then perhaps I can join you as well." Guinevere said as she stopped going up and began walking down.

The auburn girl sat beside Ruby, wearing a purple night gown as her hair was set loose.

"As I recall, we haven't had a proper conversation have we?" Guinevere said as she rested her head on the side of the couch.

"Really? Oh yeah! Usually Dyrroth or Gusion is with you." Ruby was a little excited that she had a chance on getting to know Guinevere.

"Those two always give me a headache...." Guinevere sighed as she again remembered how they left the castle.

"Then why do you hang out with them?" Ruby asked. She never really knew the reason why Dyrroth, Gusion and Guinevere hangout.

"I don't really know.... Dyrroth just one day sat beside me asking 'why do girls like pale blond fools?'. It was the time you were eating with Alucard and Granger." Guinevere explained.

"Wait, he was stalking me?" Ruby stopped what she was doing and listened carefully to Guinevere.

"Yeah, I didn't know why I joined him back then. Later we met Gusion and decided that we should hang out more often. It was fun." Guinevere said as a slight curve was seen at the corner of her mouth.

"Dyrroth mentioned to me back then that you had a crush on Gusion. Was it true?" Ruby asked the auburn haired girl.

"It's true, but not anymore. I like Granger better, he seems interesting really." Guinevere couldn't stop herself from blushing. The image of her and Granger being together just makes her heart beat faster.

"You two look great together! I'm sure it'll work out!" Ruby assured Guinevere since she was staying here because she didn't want to marry someone she doesn't love.

"It's just frustrating how my parents easily accepted the idea! Even Lancelot couldn't do anything...." Guinevere groaned in frustration as she remembered Lancelot losing to that bastard.

"Who were you even going to marry? It was mentioned that it was Gusion's brother, right?" Ruby asked as it was never mentioned what Gusion's brother's name was.

"Oh you mean Aamon? That guy's a jerk, all he cares about is making the Paxley name more powerful than it already is."

"Woah! Does he look like Gusion?" Ruby asked. Gusion never once mentioned his brother, so it was a surprise for Ruby to know that he had a brother.

"Somewhat a b-bit. Aamon looks more mature than Gusion, but Gusion is more easy to be with than A-Aamon." Guinevere explained. She couldn't help but be scared sometimes. What if Aamon had suddenly found her hiding here? He would forcefully bring her back to her parents if needed.

Ruby noticed the stuttering in Guinevere's voice. She realized that Guinevere was afraid of this person.

"You two still awake?"

Suddenly Natalia had spoke up behind them, she was wearing a T-shirt and shorts. Base from her wet hair, Natalia had just finished taking a bath.

"We were just talking about Gusion's brother." Ruby said to Natalia who had a sour face after hearing 'Gusion's Brother'.
