Chapter 2

3rd Person View

Ruby who survived through her first 3 subjects was looking forward for their lunch break. She brought her own food that was made by her Grandma.

When the bell rang, signalling that it was already their lunch break, atleast half of the people in the room left.

Dyrroth who she did not notice was looking beside her, was carefully observing her face. He was weirded by the fact that Ruby was wearing an eye patch.

Dyrroth who was gonna ask Ruby about her eyepatch, was beaten by none other than Lesley. Who was also wearing an eye patch.

"seriously, what is it with eye patches these days," Dyrroth thought as he was observing what is happening in front of him.

Lesley then stood in front of Ruby, who failed to notice her was busy getting her lunch.

"Hello there! I'm Lesley, I'm a sniper. I see you like wearing an eyepatch as well," Lesley greeted her, with that Ruby lifted her head and saw her.

"Oh.. this? This was given to me when I was little," Ruby replied, pointing at her eyepatch. Lesley was fascinated by the red heart shaped eye patch.

"Say, do you want to be friends?" Lesley asked calmly while Ruby who had a hard time making friends was shaking.

"S-sure... We can be friends," Ruby replied stuttering, she was nervous. Hell, her heart was pounding really hard.

"Great! I'll see you later then, I have to go to my brother now and give him his food," Lesley then walked through the door but before she was out of sight, she waved her hand at Ruby.

Ruby also waved... awkwardly. "Well congratulations! You have successfully made a friend," Dyrroth suddenly said loudly but not too loud.

Ruby who was suprised, turned her head and saw the demon laying his head on the table in front of him.

"Tell me, what food do you have?" Dyrroth suddenly asked a weird question while looking at Ruby's lunch box.

Ruby then looked at her lunch box and opened it. There were 2 pieces of chicken in it. Ruby then thought of giving the demon one as sign of apology.

"I have chicken, here you can have one," Ruby said as she have him a one.

Dyrroth who was taken by suprise, stared at the food infront of him. This was the first time he was given something without bullying or threatening someone.

"Don't you want it?" Ruby asked since she was holding it for a minute already. Dyrroth who came back to reality, slowly took the food. Although he didn't say any kind of thank you, Ruby could see that it made him happy.

"Meat," Ruby suddenly looked at Dyrroth and gave him a what do you mean look. "I'll call you meat," Dyrroth said as he was eating the chicken.

"Okay...." was all Ruby could say. Does this mean they're friends? Probably not, Ruby thought. Well atleast that solves their problem.

"Oi meat! Tell me, what happend to your height,"

Ruby then looked at Dyrroth "I AM NOT THAT SHORT!" Ruby shouted at Dyrroth which shocked the class.

"The new girl yelled at... the prince?"

"Oh no.. this will not end well."

"Goodluck to her."

Alot of voices were whispering and Ruby was flushed red because of embarrassment.

She didn't like attracting attention nor getting loud. But the demon had to ask her about her height. And that she can't accept.

A lot of things came to Ruby's mind, if she blew her chances of getting a good image or if people will avoid her. But all of that suddenly disappeared as well as the whisperings when they heard.... A laugh.

A FREAKING LAUGH

Everyone looked at the source of the sound. After learning who was laughing, everyone in the room except for Ruby was in shocked.

For it was Dyrroth who was laughing, and not just the small and quiet laugh, but a genuine and loud laugh.

Dyrroth held his stomach while banging his hand on his table. After a few seconds, he began stopping.

"Y-you s-suprise me, you d-didn't looked like the k-kind of person to shout like that," Dyrroth who was chuckling in between his sentence.

Ruby then pouted and just stayed quiet, she was red as a tomato. Dyrroth who began looking around the students who were still in shocked stood up.

"Got a problem?" Dyrroth said, back to being scary. The students then went back to what they were doing before.

Rumours then suddenly started, people saying the new transfer student stood up to the Prince and didn't end up getting threatened.

"Well that was fun," Dyrroth said looking at Ruby, who was still red. "You know, you intrigue me. For once in a blue moon, I'll volunteer to show you around," Dyrroth added.

Ruby who was now calm, looked at him and agreed to his offer. "Do you normally not show people around?" Ruby asked since he said once in a blue moon.

"Of course I don't. I don't like befriending anyone, but you, you're an exception," Dyrroth said not noticing the words he just used.

Ruby who noticed the words he used, blushed.

"So I'm guessing you just stopped growing?" Dyrroth suddenly said. Ruby still red but not from blushing anymore, she was mad. "I. HATE. YOU." Ruby said, ready to strike Dyrroth with her scythe.

Dyrroth who began laughing again said "This is going to be fun."

The bell rang and all the students came back to their rooms.
