"You can stop laughing now." Sidney says while irritated.
"I wasn't the one that said biggie so don't you dare be pissed at me." I laugh some more until I decide to give the big guy a breather.
By now, we've gone back to the J's, get it?... Jill and Jake hahaa. It's around six pm. "Hey, aren't you guys hungry? Jake asks out of the blue. "Yeahh we're starved." Jill and I say at once then giggle. Sidney just stares at me and I playfully blow a kiss to him. Stupid boy pretends to catch it and we both laugh. We have gotten along so fast so well that it is shocking but he is really fun to be around. "Let's go to our tent and you can grab something." Sidney says. We follow them until we reach a medium-sized green tent but there are two other girls inside. I don't know why I feel a little annoyed by that but I ward away that feeling fast. I'm not ready for that yet again. We enter after the boys and the girls look up at us.
"Why, hello there."one girl says. They are both pretty as hell that they put Jill and I in the mud but I don't really care. Jill and I smile at her in response. "Hey." I say to the other girl. "Hi." She replies and goes back to her phone so fast. Damn.
"Sorry about her. She's ever glued to her phone." Sidney says. She sticks out her tongue at him.
"Anyways she's my sister, Samantha...." "Sam." Samantha says cutting her brother off. "Nice to meet you Sam. I'm Athens and this is Jill." I say to her kindly. "Hey." Jill says with a wave. "Hello. Nice to meet you too." Sam replies with a smile.
"Um, you didn't introduce me y'all." The other girl says. I had even forgotten she was around.
"Oh that's Karen....my mom" Sidney says.
What?
That's his mom ..no way! She's so young and....young! I think Sidney notices the look on my face so he continues "Well stepmom but to me she really is my mom." Oh I thought. "Ohh that's sweet...hey Karen." I say. "Hey Athens....and Jill" She replies. "Hi Karen." Jill says. Here I was thinking those were their girlfriends....how dumb of me."Well come on in...sit down with us." Karen says.
"Thank you though we have to leave very soon as it's getting dark." I say.
"That's okay honey." She's so sweet.
"Where's my mom?" Jake asks. "Uh she went with your dad to the beach house... I guess she was tired or something." Karen says. "Oh okay." Jake says.
Karen orders Sam to serve all of us cocktails and snacks. "This is a very nice cocktail, Karen." I say. "I know right. I made it myself." She says with a small grin. "She makes the best cocktails." Sidney adds with a smile. "Aw thanks son...very right though." Karen says with a wink. We continue talking and laughing. After like an hour, Jill and I get up to leave. We bid goodbye to Karen, Sam and the boys although the boys offer to walk us to our car. We talk along the way until we reach the car. "Dope drive. Never took you two for drivers." Jake says. "This is Jill's though." I say.
"Damn anyways it's getting late so I'm guessing you two are leaving now" Sidney says.
"Are you really that anxious to make us leave? Jill asks jokingly.
Sidney and Jake stare at us like we forgot something. Oh. The incident earlier on. I think Jill catches on too because next she says "Yup. We're leaving straight away...Athens get in" as she enters the car. I get in too and lower the window to wave at the guys when Sidney moves forward quickly before Jill starts the car.
"Hey, bring your phone." He says. I guess I look at him weirdly because he adds "I just wanna give you my number that's all."
"And what makes you think I want it?" I ask faking seriousness and he starts fidgeting.
"Kidding...here." I say handing over my iPhone. He types in the number and gives it back then he winks at me. Damn that was kinda hot...Athens relax what the hell. I shake my head to get back to my senses.
"Bye girlsss." Jake says with a broad smile. We slowly peel out from the parking space and drive away. I see the boys also walk back towards the beach house. "Well....today was fun." Jill says with a smirk before adding "Except the creepy incident at first." We remain silent for some time until I break the silence.
"Though if you look at it in a positive way, if it didn't happen then we wouldn't have met Jake and Sidney." I try to lighten the mood.
"Probably...yeahhh." Jill says while laughing and I join her.
We switch on the radio and start belting out the lyrics of sunflower by Post malone without a care in the world. I don't realise we're home until the car engine goes silent. "Oh we're home." I leap out of the car parked in the big shed as Jill does the same. We walk towards the house and we hear my mom's voice as we pass through the foyer "Girls, is that you?" "Yes mom. We're back!" I shout back. I think she's in the kitchen with Aunt Jolly. "Oh cool. Thank heavens you got back in time for dinner." Aunt Jolly says as we walk over.
"Mom, Athens and I need to freshen up first then come down for dinner." Jill says to her mom politely. "Okay, sure but be fast darlings."I go into my room and Jill goes to hers. I let out a huge sigh...wow I'm tired. I undress and move into the bathroom. I wash my hair first with the strawberry shampoo then my body with my soap. I finish and dress up in pyjamas leaving a towel on my hair to dry. I remove it and put my hair in a messy bun then go downstairs. I find everyone already seated at the dining table. I sit down at the chair I usually sit on.
"Hey Athens." Uncle Jeff says. "Hey uncle....how was your day?" I greet with a polite smile. "It was fine and yours?" "Oh you know, fun and all." I reply. "Jill, how was your day?" He also asks his daughter. "Fine, very fine thank you." She replies simply.
"Jordan what's up?" I ask my other cousin. "Nothing much, just tired cuz. How are yah?" "I'm good."
He nods.
We eat our food in a comfortable silence. After dinner, Jill and I clean up the table and take the utensils to the kitchen. We clean them very fast and go to our rooms. We are so tired to sit down and talk about the day but tomorrow's a day.
"Night b." Jill shouts from her room.
"Goodnighttt." I shout back.
