A LIE AT THE BEACH

Chapter Ten: Sidney.

She's so beautiful when she laughs. I stare at her without her knowledge for as long as I can imagine.

I picked her from her house at noon sharp. I'm proud of myself damn I rarely keep time except when it comes to her. Anyways, she looked really hot in her army pants, tank top and sketchers. She doesn't over do it like the other girls I've been around. We blasted music throughout the journey after laughing our lungs out...not literally of course. She's really fun to be around. I was shocked she's a rap kind of person...like that was bizarre and believe it or not, it made me like her more. She was so free with me unlike other girls who try to act ladylike every time. I don't know why I was so nervous when we were almost reaching the place I wanted to show her...my favorite spot. When she touched my arm in a relaxing way, I don't know why I felt better instantly...like she was my stress reliever or something. I don't know and that alone scares the shit out of me. I opened her door for her like the gentleman I am when we reached and she politely mumbled a thanks. She's perfect.

We walked hand in hand until we reached the bottom near the lake and I'm really glad she loved it all...even the food. She  was so cute when I teased her earlier about her being self-conscious but surely this girl has nothing to be scared about. She's my 10/10 from her beautiful big eyes, small nose and lush lips to her slender neck then her gorgeous curves...her long legs...Oh God.

Currently, we're swimming around and splashing each other with water...I love this. It's around four pm right now and we're still playing and goofing around. "Hey Sid, can I ask you a question?" Her and the questions. As if she senses my uneasiness, "Only one, I promise." She adds with a slight puppy dog face...fuck me who can say no to that?  "Fine. Ask away." I say to her. "Are you dating? Just asking."   That catches me offguard actually.   "Um, no. And you?"    "Nuhh." That's shocking as she really is beautiful no offense. I guess I stare at her for long because she raises a questioning eyebrow at me.  "I also have a question for you, Athens." and she winces. I chuckle and continue "Is that a go ahead?" She nods so I go on.

"Tell me about you."
"Uh that's not a question." she replies while splashing the water around.

I just keep looking at her until she starts by blowing out air through her mouth. It seems she's not ready to open up or not her favorite place to speak out. I respect that so I speak up. "It's okay if you're not ready to tell me about you yet...I get it." I say with a soft smile which she forcefully returns.
"Thanks."

It's around five thirty pm by now. I checked after getting out of the water a few minutes ago but Athens seems to still be enjoying the water. Let's not talk about the irony that she didn't want to enter the same water at first. Very funny girl.

"It's getting late. We should get going." I say to the pretty girl swimming around.

She groans and I chuckle at that.
"Now?" she asks with a cute pout. "It's five thirty-five and I don't wanna take you home so late." "How old are we?" she asks playfully.   "I'm a gentleman so by 6 pm I need to have dropped you back home as it's our first date."  Oh fuck what did I just say? Athen's eyes widen as she gets out of the water and grabs a small towel I got from the car. "A date?" she asks slowly.  "Um sorry I meant I just wanted you to see this nice place and I don't know why I felt the urge to bring you here but I felt the need to and here we are. Don't get scared and shit, I didn't mean to scare you. It's not really a date haha." Real smooth Sid...real smooth and I mentally punch myself.

She surprises me by hugging me and when I recover from the shock, I hug her back and she's really soft. I could spend a whole day with her in my arms I swear. She's tall but short compared to me so literally I can rest my head on top of hers...it's like we fit each other. "Thanks for bringing me here, Sid. I really loved it and everything else including the food." She says softly with her face buried in my chest. "I'm glad you loved it." We hug a little longer and separate to collect up everything to go home. We put the containers back in the baskets and fold the picnic cloth together. We carry everything and move back to the car. I open her door for her of course and close it for her as soon as she's in then I rush to my side. I grab a shirt from the back of my car and wear it.

I start the car and put the heat on because Athens is starting to sneeze. I guess she feels cold since her hair is wet so I also grab one of my hoodies from the back of my car and hand it to her. "Here, wear this." She mumbles a thanks and wears it hurriedly. Much better. I start driving and it's getting pretty dark outside so I increase the car speed so I can get her home earlier. I don't want to get caught up in the traffic jam either. Athens has fallen asleep so I adjust her seat slightly with one hand as the other is on the steering wheel so she can sleep comfortably. She mumbles something and I continue the drive.

After around thirty minutes, we're at her home gate but I don't enter this time since the elders might be home. It's not the best time to meet them. I wake Athens up slowly and she stirs in her sleep. "Athens you're home." I add softly. She opens her eyes slowly while adjusting to the lights around. I step out of the car and open her door for her and she nods lazily in thanks. I hold her small bag and turn off the car so I can see her to the door. We enter after the gatekeeper sees I'm with Athens.

Athens turns to me when we reach the door. "Thanks a lot for today, Sid. I had such fun." It seems she's now fully awake.   "It was nothing big but you're welcome." She hugs me for the second time today and when she lets go, we stare at each other for some time and when I move in to kiss her, someone opens the door.

"Oh look who's home." It's just Jill pheww. "Hey Jill" I say.   "Hey Sid...I think you should go because Athens here looks exhausted and you as well."
"Yeah true. Goodnight you both."
"Goodnight Sidney." Athens and Jill reply then enter the house. I walk away thinking of the kiss we almost shared until Jill ruined it. Ugh. I get in my car and drive back home.
