Wow. It's Tuesday today...two weeks I've been working at the book company and it's exhausting but exhilarating at the same time. Man, I love my job...part-time job whatever. Can you imagine they pay me weekly?! This is like a dream come true because I'm earning while doing what I love. You can call me a nerd but I don't really care because I'm earrrninggg!

Well, after that night uncle Jeff asked me to work for him, I kept thinking about it and the chances it could come with. I mean, what if I'm good at my job and uncle decides to hire me after I'm done with campus. I could permanently move here and settle in this awesome city. Don't get me wrong.... I love Cali to death but a girl's gotta see the world. The next day uncle asked to take me to tour the place and goddamn I felt like saying yes there and then. The place was and is still so beautiful with all the flowerpots around, the glass doors, spacious offices with huge mahogany tables, the place was really stunning so the following day I woke up early and dressed in a simple white dress and black heels like a working lady. When uncle was going to work, I told him I was ready to work and asked for a lift to my new workplace. He was so happy and surprised at the same time. He assured me he would find me my own car to be using to get to work soon.

We went to work and he showed me to my office. I know I know, myyy office...so crazy. I remember when he told me they had just fixed it up for me, I said with a lot of excitement "Get out...you have to be kidding me!" Uncle thought I was chasing him and I had never been more embarrassed though I explained what I meant...that it was just an expression. I was so happy.

Right now, the Secretary has brought in a few files for me to check before they are taken to the boss and I'm fully dedicated when it comes to my job. Uncle says I'm doing well...like as though I had trained before. I guess I'm a natural. I finish rewriting a few essays because some were not as interesting I mean the stories were just too plain. I carry the files steadily and take them straight to my uncle's office. He regards them for sometime and nods with a smile of pride.

"Keep doing things this way and I might employ you after you graduate and I beam at him in happiness.

"Thanks boss" I reply with a salute and uncle chuckles.

I walk out of the office and I remember I haven't talked to dad in a while. Damn. I'll call him as soon as I get to my office.  "Hey kiddo." Dad's voice booms through my phone.  "Hey dad. How are yah?"   "I'm good I'm good just tired...you know with work and stuff." He releases a huge sigh "Sorry..."   "Nope. I'll be fine. How are you my favorite daughter?" He says with a smile in his voice.  "I'm okay dad ..and I'm your only daughter." I say with a playful scowl which he can't see though I know he can tell because he always says that to get a rise out of me. He laughs "Still gets you huh?"   "Stop it dad. I miss you so much though. When are you coming to see us?" I whine like a ten year old but I'm a daddy's girl sooo. "Oh honey I miss you guys too.. you and mum but how about this? I could come over for the weekend this week if..." I don't let him finish before I squeal and ask
"Really? You're coming? Oh I've a lot to tell you dad." He chuckles over the line.
"You didn't even let me finish honey. I was saying I'll come if I clear out my schedules before the weekend...that okay?"  I sigh.
"Okay...but please endeavour to finish dad." "Course I will. Now I need to get back to work sweetheart. Call you later?"
"Alright then. Byeee. Love you lots." I say into my phone.
"Bye sweetheart. I love you more." He disconnects the call. I'll tell him about my job when he comes. Should I tell mum that dad's coming? No.. he's not sure if he is coming himself.

I continue working that day and Sid calls me on my way home. Oh, uncle gave me his white jeep for work. I put the phone on loudspeaker in the passenger seat. Sid calls everyday either in the evening or before I go to sleep. I don't know how he tells when I'm going to get into bed. He has also become so flirty but not in a creepy way....instead in a way that gives me butterflies in my tummy though nothing has been established between us.  "Hey beautiful." His raspy voice makes me almost ram into a roadside post....almost. That's what Sid does to you.  "Hey Sid." I reply with a smile instantly not feeling tired anymore from the long day. "How was your day, working lady?" He playfully asks.  "Oh you know, stressing but I gotta make some cash." I play along and we both chuckle.
"How was yours though?" I ask. Sid works at his father's construction company as an instructor. It seems he's really good at his work by the time he's an instructor. "It was okay just had meetings all day since dad wasn't around so he left it all in my hands." He sighs. "Hmm must have been tiresome." I say sympathetically.
"Gotta make some cash, babe." He uses my line from earlier. He calls me babe so much that it just stuck. It's not totally okay with me because every girl wants to be asked out first even if we both know we like each other...right? "I'll call you later babe." He says after someone calls him in the background.
"Okay then. Bye Sid."
"Bye beautiful."

I drive home thinking about Sid with a smile on my face.
