A LIE AT THE BEACH

Chapter 7: Athens.

I'm so exhausted when we get home and I haven't even sat down when I receive a text from Sid. If we were dating, I'd say clingy much lol. He says he had a nice day with all of us. Aww. I reply Jill and I enjoyed the day out with them too. I drop my phone on my bed and head into the shower. Dang I'm so exhausted. I shampoo my hair and get into the shower. Today went actually well like I had lots of fun. The best part was when the guys carried Jill and I back to the cars while racing. We laughed so loud that everyone was looking at us but we didn't care at all. Well, of course we won, that is Sid and I. Jill was hesitant to climb onto Jake's back so that took some of their time so we won. I giggle at that.

I'm done showering and I'm dressed up in pyjamas ready to hit my bed when I hear a knock on my door. "Come in!" I say and my mum enters.
I wasn't expecting to see her though because I thought she was fast asleep since Jill and I returned past mid night.

"Hey mum..."

"Hey you. Where have you been so late?" She asks but in a not so serious tone as if just curious.

"Um ..out with Jill and a few friends we made that's all." I say while organising my bed only to catch my mum staring me down. I stop what I'm doing and turn to her with a raised eyebrow silently asking what's up.

"You're smiling." she simply states. Shit I didn't realize I was, damn me. I turn away and answer quickly. "No...no I wasn't. What are you talking about?"

"Unhaa...who's he?" she asks with a smirk like I'm a teenager with a high school crush. My mother, oh God.

"I dunno what you're talking about, mum."   "Oh come on, tell me." She exclaims. I simply look at her as she sits on my bed.  "Mom, I'll tell you whenever I'm ready to...please. But all you should know is there's nothing happening between us yet..."   "Yet huh?" my mum asks with a smirk and I groan.    "We're just friends mum. It's only been like two weeks!"     "Love knows no time..." She says while getting up and I gape at her.    "Mum?!"  This is so embarrassing like for fuck sake I'm not a teenager but why am I blushing like a lunatic. My phone dings with an incoming message and I grab my phone hurriedly with a giddy smile. My mum laughs.

"You're still here?" I ask out of embarrassment. "Goodnight honey." mum says with a smile while standing in the doorway. "Goodnight mum." She switches off the lights and closes the door only for her to open it again a little and she whispers "Be careful princess." Oh God. I laugh at my dear mother. She gives me a serious look . "Okay mother, I will." I say with a smile. "Love you." She says before closing the door. "Love you too, mum." I say loud enough for her to hear.

Sidney and I text about today and he even tells me how pretty I am and all but that's normal right?
Me: Goodnight Sid.
I send the text while yawning.
My Hero: Goodnight beautiful ;)....dream about me of course.
Me: Yeah sure.
My Hero: Sarcastic much.
Me: ;)
I send the text and instantly fall asleep.

I wake up, pray and check my phone. Wow it's eleven am. I really slept well. I feel so energised but then I remain in bed since I've no plans for today really. That goes down the drain when I receive a text from Sid saying he wants to meet me today. Okay...
Me: Are Jill and Jake coming along?
I text back and within less than 5 seconds he replies.
My Hero: Nope....just the two of us.
I don't have a reply for this so he beats me to it by adding. "Not like um...a romantic date or anything. Uh just wanna show you a nice place only I know about :)"
Me: Well, sounds much like a date.
I reply trying to act like I'm not full of excitement right now.
My Hero: Ugh don't be hard...please come with me. You'll love it, I promise.
Me: Okay then...if you insist.
I'm so weird but I gotta keep my ego as a girl. Also, I'm not ready for a re-run of the Mike saga.
My Hero: Haha. I'll pick you at noon. Okay?
Me: Yeah okay.
I reply and bolt to the shower. I take a bath with my favorite strawberry showering gel mum bought me from New Zealand on one of her trips. It's damn expensive but worth it. I smell fresh after I'm done. It's eleven thirty am by now. Wow I only have thirty minutes to dress up and make up...oh no. I hurriedly curl my hair into natural waves like the way it always is and apply a little mascara, blush and chapstick. I'm not a heavy makeup person unless it's party time...you know what I'm saying haaa.

Shoot, I didn't ask what kind of place we were going to and now I'm not sure what to wear. I call Sidney to ask and he picks up on first ring. "Hey there. It's quite a shock to see your call." He muses and I know he is smirking right now. I roll my eyes and reply "Hey! Uh what kind of place are we going to? I want to know what to wear..." "Oh it's outdoors so you can wear jeans and shit...anything." He replies into the phone. "Oh okay bye!" I hang up quickly. What? I'm in a confused state right now...agitated too. I grab a tank top and army pants together with nice black sketcher shoes. I'm a simple person, I don't over dress because I like my comfort. I dress up and spray my Victoria's secret perfume. I grab my phone and small bag with a few necessities like hair comb, chapstick, money and so on. I check my phone again and it's 11:59 am. Pheww done right on time!
