I woke up miserable the following day after my little life's first ever kiss. Guilt was gnawing my conscience as if I was stealing Lance from Yvonne. Why did they call off their wedding? Was it me who was the reason why Yvonne suddenly decided to end things up with Lance? But she did not show any anger at me nor did even give a hint of envy when we last saw each other before she left for Saudi. Why did Lance kiss me? Was it because he likes me or was it because he finally got free from Yvonne at last?

Oh, my head was throbbing of too much overthinking and from last night's alcohol and karaoke spree with my best friend. I reached for my phone at my bedside table, wishing to get a text message from Lance. But there was none. I was disheartened upon getting that reality check of him being not that into me.

To stop my mind ruining my day, I got up and showered for work. I didn't have any appetite for breakfast; much more for my mother's cooking so I hurriedly stormed out from the house. That was also to do away with her scrutiny once she notices my eye bugs.

"Drive safely!" my mom called out from the kitchen.

"I will. Love yah!" I answered before shutting our main door behind me.

The moment I arrived at our wedding shop, my best friend's mom was already there sitting on the customer's chair at my table.

"Good morning, Tita" I pecked a kiss on her cheek as I approached her.

"Good morning, dear! I'm here to tell you that your best friend couldn't come to work today and ask you why she came home drunk last night," my best friend's mother inquired.

"Oh, my apologies for that, Tita. It was me whom to blame. I tagged her along for karaoke and we had some drinks," I explained while ignoring the sudden prick on my forehead. I gingerly sat down on my seat, putting my bag on top of my table. "Alcohol doesn't do me any good," I thought.

"Are you OK?" my best friend's mother asked with a concerned look.

"Yes, Tita. It must be alcohol," I answered.

"Yeah, I know. Let me get you coffee," she offered.

"Thanks but I'm really not into coffee. I'm fine, Tita," I assured her.

"If something's bothering you, you can tell me my dear," she must've sensed my uneasiness. "Promise I won't tell anyone," she swore with her right hand on her chest.

"Tita, there's this boy whom I really like and he does things that could make me conclude that he likes me too but I'm not that convinced," I blurted out hastily to release the heaviness I'm feeling inside.

"Just as I've thought. It's a boy thing. I could see that he's giving you mixed signals. Let me guess. One moment he's sweet, the next moment he ignores. He shows you he cares for you but he never tells you he does. Oh, most boys are like that! Here's the catch. If you're not that too convinced of him also having feelings for you, then you must listen to your intuition. However, you must also open up your heart to give him a chance. Who knows he's still trying the waters before taking a plunge?" my best friend's mom confused me even more.

"I don't understand, Tita," I sighed.

"You will. Someday, my dear," she got up from her chair and pecked a kiss on my forehead. It was so motherly I remembered getting away from my mother early that morning at home. Why do I find it hard opening up to her?

"Thank you, Tita," I gave a smile to my best friend's mom.

"OK, then. I have to go," she said as she motioned to the door of our shop.

"Come back, baby, please. 'Causewe belong together....." the ringtone of my phone was singing that song. "Oh, it must be Lance!" I cheered myself upas I excitedly looked for my phone inside my bag.
