"I don't care what people might think," my friend said getting up from her seat to go to the dance floor.
We were in a club to have a drink but my friend had already downed 5 shots of tequila! Trying to be the sane one 'till we go home, I was only nursing a glass of Shirley temple which she detested.
"Wai wai wait! You can't go in there in that state," I was trying to hold her up.
"The heck you're telling me what to do," she said while downing another shot of tequila. "This is really good!" She raised the empty shot glass while dancing to the beat of Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls. Salt, shot, lemon, repeat. She's doing that for 6 times already!
"I think we should go home," I said grabbing the shot glass from her and taking the bottle of tequila from the table.
"Who wants a shot?" I motioned to the other table.
"Hey, you're not doing that," my friend tried to get the bottle from me.
"Oh, you want some body shots?" the guy from the other table asked mockingly and his friends jeered in laughter.
"No, have this all you want for free! And, you might also want your table to be covered by us?" I offered haughtily. I could see that they were only students. Students who were younger than us so I was confident to talk back. It was so easy to boss 'em around 'coz they've got no money.
"Woho! Rich girls! OK, just let me have that shit," the bastard took both the tequila bottle and the shot glass. "Thanks, anyway!"
"You're welcome, handsome. Wanna dance?" my friend suddenly butt in tracing the young guy's jawline with her index finger.
"Sure thing, lovely lady," the boy next table handed the bottle and the glass to his nearest friend without even watching who. He just locked eyes with my already insane friend.
"No, you can't!" I protested, moving in between them.
"Oh, just give us one song," my friend pleaded and it's Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani in the background. "I ain't no hollaback girl, I ain't no hollaback girl," she sang while swaying.
"God, she's got the moves!" the boy exclaimed in admiration.
"Oh, please. Could you please shut up!" I barked at him.
"Come, come, come! Just one song!" my friend grabbed the boy's hand and it was already too late to hold them back. They were hastily joining the crowd in the dance floor.
Then the boy just passed me with a big grin. I lost!
"Fuck!" I shouted behind them but I doubt if they heard me.
"Your friend's gonna be fine. James is a good boy," the boy's friend reasoned handing me a shot of tequila.
For the first time in the evening, I took the glass. Salt, shot, lemon, I downed my first shot that night.
"You can sit with us if you want," the supporting boy offered.
"No, thanks. I'm better off alone," I rejected. Then I went back to our table and slouched in the couch.
"Ahem. Ahem. Being alone in a club as a girl is no good," the supporting boy chimed in from behind my back.
"I'm a girl no more," I muttered rolling my eyes though he couldn't see.
"No man is an island," he continued.
"So what do you want?" I demanded facing him.
"Sit with you," he answered looking straight to my eyes.
I didn't reply and just turned away from him.
"So, what's up with your friend that she's drinking?" he inquired hopping to the couch from behind and sat right next to me.
"Nah, she really doesn't intend to. We're really not into this. Just some hormones of the female reproductive system kicking in," I intentionally intimidated him.
"Tsk tsk tsk. You, girls really have your own thing," he insinuated.
I didn't mind him with that anymore 'coz I was busy keeping an eye on my friend who was already grinding with a boy to the tune of My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas.
"She sure is having the time of her life," the supporting boy implied, following my gaze.
"We'll be damned good tomorrow morning!" I concluded with a white flag.
