"Oh, come on! It will be a great adventure!" my best friend was trying to convince me to join Kitchie Ng's Search for the Next Top Wedding Designer.

"I'm not interested. Why won't you do it instead?" I rejected.

"James and I already have plans," she said hesitantly.

"Plans of what?" I asked dumbfounded.

"Of a future together," she continued.

"Gosh, is this now serious?" I was scared to hear her yes.

"I'm afraid, yes," she said closing her eyes.

"Since when?!" I demanded.

"Since I dunno. It just happened," she tried to walk out from the conversation.

"Are you sure about him?" I asked remembering the two pesky boys from years before.

"Anj, we're not getting any younger," my best friend got back to me holding my hands in both her hands.

"I'm sorry. I was just surprised," I said releasing her hands and walking out from her.

"Anj, wait," my best friend tried to catch up.

"Just let me process things," I said and turned my back from her.

It has been a week since my break-up with Mark Carlo. I finally called it quits after a year of unlabeled and unofficial relationship with him. It was never what I desired but I held on. It was never what I wanted but I guess this was what I need to grow. From naive and innocent, he actually had me grown up. So still thanks to him for the many splendored things! Once my reality, he is now a fantasy.
