With somebody by my side, I couldn't concentrate driving. I am not used to having somebody at my passenger's seat aside from my best friend.
"So, why were you up drinking with your friend?" Tom asked just to break the silence.
"As what I've said to her mom, celebrating!" I answered.
"May I know what you're celebrating about?" he followed-up a question.
"For not finding a pair of shoes for her to wear at her ex's wedding, for her to fin'lly confront the truth that she was not the one who was chosen, for her to...... Wait, why am I answering your questions?" I suddenly realized that I was confiding too much.
"For you to have someone to talk to aside from girls so you can also consider the boys' point of view," he said confidently.
"I told you I'm not a girl anymore!" I exclaimed. This guy is already irritating me. What's with this small talk and everything?
"But you're still a girl. All female species are. You should be treated as a girl. You should be taken care of, protected, and loved," he explained sentimentally.
"What's with the drama?" I asked.
"Nothing. I just learned that from my grandma," he answered.
"OK. Now tell grandma she had raised a grandson very well! But why were you in the club?" I scrutinized.
"James just tagged me along," he replied with a sigh. "I don't usually go out," he added.
"So you don't have homework for tomorrow?" I inquired while banking round the curve.
"Me homework done. James just copy tomorrow," he said wryly.
"So you're the good one," I eyed him upon saying this.
"Try me!" he dared.
"What?!" I exclaimed as I bumped into a red sedan!
