"I'm not in love anymore! I'm cooling off the wedding!" Yvonne stormed inside our make-shift shop beside our ancestral house.

"Cool off? Meaning, cancel, postpone?" my best friend asked nervously. "What's the difference of these words, by the way?" she continued in panic.

"Wait, will you please calm down?" I suggested and motioned the two to take their seats.

"No! I can't stand getting married with that jerk!" Yvonne exclaimed.

"Why? What must be the problem? What will we do with our wedding suppliers?" my best friend was starting to worry already.

"Shhh... Let us first listen to Yvonne on what she has to say," I cut her.

"He is just so immature! See, I'm very busy doing everything just to make our wedding very memorable but it seems like he's not even interested," Yvonne said with tears falling down her cheeks.

"Maybe you, guys just have to talk about it," I suggested.

"Nope. He's very busy with his computer games and hanging out with his friends with too much to drink. God, he always drinks and get wasted a lot!" she said in disgust.

"He will change once you're married, for sure," my best friend also suggested.

"Will I wish for that or just won't start that kind of life at all?" Yvonne asked desperately.

"Don't rush on your decisions, Yvonne," I whispered to console her.

"Exactly," my best friend got up and handed her a glass of water.

"No. My decision is final. I will pay for all the damage. Don't you worry. I'll have everything covered before my flight tomorrow," Yvonne said gulping at her glass of water.

"Flight? You're leaving tomorrow? God, Yvonne. This is supposed to be our company's first wedding. Please don't leave us hangin' in the air like this," my best friend begged this time.

"I'll talk with Lance about this, Yvonne," I offered.

"Thanks but no thanks. I already booked my flight. I also talked with my ninang regarding the venue and the rest, I'll pay for everything as I've said," she said firmly.

"Look, Lance and you are the most perfect pair ever! We've seen that even before in high school," my best friend tried to persuade her looking at me to agree.

But I didn't say a thing to agree with her anymore. Maybe this is meant to happen. Maybe they are not meant to be. I felt so sorry for Yvonne for having gone through this heartache. Lance may not have broken her heart by cheating on her but he had broken her heart for not living up to her expectations. Yes, we females do really expect a lot. We expect to be appreciated, to be taken care of, and to be loved. If Yvonne thought that Lance couldn't reciprocate, then I respect her decision for calling it quits. The wedding was off!
