Louis Imagine for Megan! :D
**Megan's P.O.V**
"Megan, can we take a break?" my best friend huffed. I turned around to watch her stop on the trail, her hands resting on her knees and her chest moving up and down rapidly. I turned my head again to stare wistfully at the top of the mountain before sighing and walking back down to meet her, holding out a water bottle.
She snatched it from me and started to guzzle water down, not wasting one second to find a suitable rock and sit down. She raised her sunglasses to the top of her head and wiped at her forehead. "Why did I agree to this trip?" she mumbled.
"Because you wanted to spend some time with me before we go back off to school," I responded, knowing fully well that she wasn't really looking for an answer. While she glared at me and drank more water, I turned on my camera and flipped through the hundreds of photos I had taken so far on our trip, deleting the bad and blurry ones.
"You know," she said, her voice echoing in the natural silence that surounded us. "Normal people would go to the beach on Spring Break. Hell, some people even stay home and just sleep and eat. But no!! We have to go hiking through the Rocky Mountains."
"You're just upset because you're sweating and you're missing the Packers game today," I smiled, shutting off the camera and taking a sip of water from my own bottle.
"I am. Thank you for reminding me about that," she said sarcastcially, redoing the ponytail in her hair. "Do you think there's a bathroom station at the top of this trail?" she asked.
"I think so. It's a national park and stuff. You'd think they'd have a visitor's center or something."
She nodded, standing up and streching. "Well, let's go," she sighed, grabbing a long stick from the ground. "If I'm gonna hike some more, I need a hiker's stick," she said, winking. I rolled my eyes and snapped a picture of her.
"I'm pretty sure that's not the naturalistic photography shot we came here to get," she pointed out, smirking at me.
"No, but it was funny. I can't wait to get to the top of this mountain though. The view there is going to be so photogenic!" I said, grinning like a five-year-old.
(Y/BFF/N) stayed silent for a few moments before turning her head to smile at me. "You know, I'm happy I came. I like seeing you this happy, and I love that you've found a hobby that interests you so much. Besides, after all this hiking, I won't have to work out for, like, a month."
I laughed, staring around me at the beautiful views of the mountain sides. A lake was situated below us on the group some hundred feet below, and the grasses around it swayed slightly in the wind. A couple of birds flew above us, squaking and swirling around a tree that branched off the side of the mountain. I sighed happily. There was nothing like an adventure outdoors with your best friend.
"Yes! A visitor's center! Do you know what that means, Megan?!" (Y/BFF/N) squealed, disturbing the tranquility of the moment.
"An award-winning view!" I responded gleefully.
"Well, that. And a bathroom! And AC! Oh my prayers have been answered!" she yelled dramatically.
"Hush, you're disturbing nature." (Y/BFF/N) rolled her eyes, nudging me with a smile.
"Here's the deal. You go take your pictures whille I pee. Then I'll meet you out there. Sound good? Good. Kay, bye," she replied, hugging me slightly before racing up the rest of the trail and into the visitor's center.
I giggled, jogging the rest of the way and making my way to the balcony. My breath caught in my throat as I rounded the corner, my eyes taking in the sights before me. Straight ahead was a huge mountain, complete with the jagged cliffs and green spots where trees and brushes grew. Along the bottom, there were smaller mountains and small dots where rivers and lakes were. The sky was clear, only a couple of clouds drifting behind the beautiful scene.
