Harry:  “Darcy,” you whispered, gently shaking your daughter awake. She groaned and rolled over, keeping her eyes glued shut. “Darce?” She grumbled in reply, and you sighed. “Fine, I’ll just throw away Dad’s famous chocolate chip pancakes.”

“I’m up! I’m up!” Darcy yelped, throwing the covers off of her body and running out of her room before you.

“Wait! Brush your hair! We have company!” you tried to warn her. Alas, Darcy tuned out everything else when it came to her pancakes. Darcy ran into the kitchen and leaped into her chair, cheering at the sight of the plate of pancakes.

You entered the kitchen after her to discover two pancakes already gone, and Harry and the boys just watching her. “Mouths closed, boys. They’ll be no teasing the Birthday Girl,” you cooed, pinching Darcy’s cheek.

“Mum,” Darcy whined, rubbing her cheek.

“I can’t believe my baby is already thirteen. Wow, I have a teenager,” Harry mused, shaking his head in shock. He walked over to Darcy and hugged her, kissing her red cheek.

“Dad! I’m trying to eat!” Darcy fake-yelled at her father. You giggled as Harry backed away with a hand to his chest.

“Look here, she’s already got that famous teenager attitude too.” Darcy giggled and finished up her pancake, handing her dirty plate to Harry.

“What do you want to do today, Darce? It’s all about you,” Liam asked, offering Darcy a side hug.

“Can we just chill today? Maybe order pizza and get a cake or something?” Darcy shrugged.

“I’m cool with that. I’ll take any chance I get before she starts hating me,” Harry joked, making the boys chuckle.

Darcy let out a light laugh before standing up and wrapping Harry in a bear hug. “I’ll never hate you, Dad. Sure, you’re embarrassing and childish and weird and a tad annoying, but I’ll never hate you. I’ll always love you and Mum, no matter how old I get.”

Harry kissed her forehead, and grabbed your waist, pulling you into the family hug. “We’ll always love you too, Darce. No matter how old we get.”
