Niall Imagine for Sadie!! :D
***Sadie's P.O.V***
"Sadie! You coming?" my best friend yelled at me from down the street. Her and her boyfriend had forced me to join them on their afternoon bike ride to our favorite diner. Since I had nothing to do today, I agreed, but now I regretted it. The two of them had ridden side by side on the sidewalk for the past quarter of an hour, and I was pushed to the back. I had slowed down, giving them their privacy, and was just now cruising on the sidewalk leisurely, weaving in between pedestrians and thinking about life.
I glanced up and squinted at a pair of black dots in the distance and for the first time realized how slow I was actually pedaling. I waved my hand at her, signaling that I would catch up to them in a minute, and shook my head at my loud best friend. I loved her to death, but she just ditched me to hang with her boyfriend. If she was going to do that and make me the third wheel on their date, why did she even invite me?
I sighed and started to pedal a little harder, attempting to catch up with them so we could go eat. I was hungry, per usual.
"Oh my god! Alyssa!" a woman screamed. My head whipped to the side as I saw a baby girl no more than four years old hop wiggle out of her stroller and run towards the path of my bike, giggling insanely. She ran straight into my bike's path, and I swerved to the side on instinct, missing the child by a few feet. I felt my front wheel turn and jerk back, and I lost control of the handles for a minute. My bike had swerved into the road when I turned, and all I heard was a car honking. Desperately, I grabbed the handle bars and swerved to the side again, knocking into something hard and falling off my bike into a patch of grass.
I groaned, rolling onto my back, and I heard some whispers all around me, along with a car stopping and a door slamming. I propped myself up on my elbows, my head pounding and small black spots dancing across my vision.
"Are you okay?! Oh my god! I'm so sorry! It was so sudden! Are you hurt?" a panicked voice demanded. A warm hand touched my shoulder, and I blinked away the black spots, the boy's face slowly coming into focus.
"Shit," he murmured. "Okay, I'm going to ask you a couple of questions to see if you're head's okay. Right, what's your name?"
"Sadie," I replied, his face finally appearing clearly before my eyes. He was young, maybe nineteen or twenty, with bleached blonde hair and bright blue eyes that looked like a crystal sky. Ah, man, he was cute.
"Pretty name," he smiled, and I couldn't help it. I smiled back. It must have been the vibe he gave off; safety, carefree, happy. "What year is it?"
"1998," I replied, trying to screw with his mind. I felt fine now that the effect of the fall had worn off. At least I landed in a patch of grass. The only thing that hurt was my knee, and I'm pretty sure it's because I hit my bruise that I got last week.
"What? Oh my god! You have a concussion! Or amnesia! Or something! Shit, what did I do?!" he panicked, running his hands through his blonde hair, a look of terror etched onto his face. I burst into laughter, and he stopped his worry rant, squinting at me suspiciously. "Great, I drove her crazy too."
"No, I was just joking," I giggled. "I know it's 2014. My name's Sadie. I'm eighteen (Let's pretend if that's not your actual age.) and I was just biking with my best friend and her boyfriend not ten minutes ago."
The boy stared at me for a couple of seconds, eyes wide, and for a moment I thought he was mad at me for lying when he actually thought he had hurt me. Then, he broke into laughter and fell onto the ground next to me. "I thought you actually had amnesia! Nice one!" he complimented.
