Louis Imagine for Sydney :)

Sydney's P.O.V.

The beach was my escape. Sure, the sand was annoying at times, and the feeling of seaweed brushing against my leg creeped me out, but it was my safe haven. I went to the beach whenever I felt stressed out or when I just needed a break from the world.

The waves were my anchor to the world. As they lapped against my feet and pulled the sand out from under me, willing me to follow, I felt myself falling into what seemed like a whole new world. It was a world filled with peace and serenity, and each particle of sand was a friend that I never had in the real world. The entire beach was my kingdom.

It was the weekend, and what better day to go to the beach than the day after five days of pure torture, also known as school.

I arrived at the beach, a pack of teenage boys playing an intense game of football/soccer off to my left, and a family on vacation stationed on my right. The two children were attempting to build a sandcastle, their skin ghostly white due to the layers of sunscreen they had on. I smiled slightly, walking forward and unrolling my towel on the sand in between the two separate groups of people.

I loved taking pictures, and I brought a camera wherever I went. Trying to be subtle, I turned on my camera and directed it at the family, who were smiling and laughing together, the father chasing his son with a bucket of water while the mother and daughter laughed and packed sand into another bucket to make another tower.

I don't know how long I sat there and snapped pictures, but before I knew it, the sun was high in the sky, and it was prime time sun tanning time. I laid back and tanned, not really caring how lonely I may look right now. The beach was the place where I could get away from my normal life.

My eyes flew open when I heard a yell and then the thud close to the side of my head. I sat up, looking around wildly until my eyes landed on a football/soccer ball lying just feet away.

"I am so sorry about that, babe," a high British voice called out to me, and I shifted my eyes up to see a boy about my age walking towards me, his arms held out apologetically. He had wide blue eyes and brown hair that looked to be styled in a quiff that had a windswept look to it thanks to his activity on the beach. He looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on where I knew him from.

"It's alright," I managed to say, tucking a strand of loose hair behind my ears. "I think this is yours," I followed up, handing him the ball once I realized that if neither of us spoke, there would just be an awkward silence to fill.

"Yeah," he said, giving a short laugh as he reached out to take the ball from me. "My mate tripped and accidently kicked it all the way over here. I'm really sorry about that. You looked like you were enjoying your tan."

"You were watching me?" I asked, raising my eyebrows jokingly.

The boy's eyes widened, and his cheeks flushed, but he still managed to smirk and nod a little. "I couldn't help myself."

Despite my confident reply earlier on, I couldn't help but blush at his words. It may be cliché, but how else to do react to this type of conversation with a cute boy your age?

"My name's Louis," the boy finally introduced, holding out his hand.

"Sydney."

"Like Australia?"

"Yup," I laughed, nodding my head.

"I have some mates who are from Sydney," he said, trying to make small talk. I felt my heart skip a beat when he said my name, even though I knew he wasn't really talking about me.
