Every day is an obvious cycle. Schedules are repetitive, and actions seem pre-written; even the breathing and the thumping of the heart are already recorded.

Jisung counted the days, glanced at the hands of the clock, and prepared himself for what was to come.

Behind all of his planned days, Sunday is the one that he never knows about.

Sure, it was his mother's birthday, which was the prime reason why he was suddenly called home that night.

Jisung remembered cursing his own mom in his mind but was also grateful for the save.

What would he say anyway?

Does he miss her? His alpha wants her.

Jisung can't even spend a single breath in those words, scared of what was to come next.

But then he was sure that if Jaemin knew about this, he might really spend the entire day nagging.

Currently, his house is on fire. Not literally, of course, but it is really burning with loud talking, women squealing, and infinite birthday greetings.

They had set their spacious backyard as the venue—tables of foods lining one side, eating spaces on the other side, and one corner of benches used by people who just wanted a happy relaxation time under the shade of trees.

Jisung is one of them, his back pressed against the trunk, eyes closed, and just basking in the natural comfort.

Beside him is Chenle, who repeatedly hit his arm, making him groan and lazily open his eyes.

"Wake your ass up; your girl's here."

"Huh?"

"Don't huh me?" Chenle used his sleepy energy to pull him up. "Shoo!"

"Firstly, ouch. Secondly, I'm not a dog!" he grumbled, standing on his much lazier legs, yet the male omega slash his best friend just rolled his eyes while flickering his hands in a shooing manner.

Jisung groaned for the nth time and dragged his feet against the poor innocent grasses until he reached the opened backdoor.

Familiar heads also showed up at the same time, surprising the pure alpha, as he quickly shifted his face into a big, welcoming smile and politely bowed.

"Jisung! This kid's really a charming one." Nari playfully bumped Seola's shoulder, who immediately agreed.

"He's the only one, yeah. Son, why won't you escort Chohee? Show her around."

Jisung just stopped his jaw from dropping, his eyes flickering at every smiling face in front of him, until he found the said girl, blankly looking at him.

His face lit up. "Of course. I hope you'll enjoy today too, Mrs. Seo, Sir Yoobin."

"Please, no need to be so formal, kid. We're not in school," Yoobin enthusiastically said, tapping his shoulder while the others also agreed.

While the celebrant showed them around, Jisung and Chohee were still in the same spot.

For some reason, he wasn't that nervous enough; rather, a hint of excitement ran through his system the moment his eyes met hers.

Chohee's scarlet hair still amazes him. It was simply down, wavy, as if sea waves had crashed on it. She was wearing a mustard-colored dress, stopping just below her knee, paired with white open wedges.

She looked like a girl who had escaped from a lost fairytale. A pure fairy, or a beautiful princess.

Jisung didn't know how long he stared, though. Unintentionally, yet obvious enough, his mind is starting to run beyond the Milky Way.

So, Chohee smirked, raising her hand up on his face and snapping, immediately pulling the male back to reality like a magic trick.

"Done checking me out?"

"Oh?" Jisung replied, lost and confused until he regained composure again. "Oh, uh, I'm sorry."

"Mhm. Where's the food? I haven't eaten anything since lunch."

"WHY DIDN'T YOU" he immediately shut his mouth and sighed. "Make sure to eat lots."

The beta just grinned while she trailed behind him and easily got a plate full of every food there was.

Once settled at the table already occupied by her parents, she dug in. While Jisung returned to the bench, he once sat beside the teasing Chenle.

"Mark-hyung said Johnny-hyung has some events to serve," Renjun said the moment he sat on the other side.

Oh. Johnny-hyung, Jisung mentally snorted, as he only remembered the older pure alpha just now.

Nevertheless, he just hummed, agreeing to avoid further nagging or teasing.

His eyes swiftly shifted to the table of Seos, though. Easily spotting them as nothing and no one is blocking them.

Jisung never said it out loud, but he knew his feelings were something.

He's beginning to like her.

And it's really serious.
