"It's the day of the lovers," Tommy called from far away.  I smiled as I heard Claire distantly lecture him. She fit into the flow easily, which I was thankful for. Tommy was right though, it was Valentine's Day.

And...maybe, I might've forgotten.

Which meant, of course, that I had no gift for George. Thus, I tossed on my white hoodie and grabbed my car keys. As I was almost out the door, I heard footsteps approaching me rapidly. I turned to see Tommy.

"Boss man, boss man Dream, take me with you please." I laughed.

"Did you forget too?" I asked. He nodded.

"Alright, you can come along." He flashed a grateful smile and I shook my head.

"Thank you so much," he said, sounding relieved. I unlocked my car and we got in. "Aux?" He asked.

"Sure, why not." I only let him have it because I knew his music taste was amazing, mostly due to Wilbur. "We're getting flowers first, is that good with you?" I glanced at him.

"Yeah, that's fine." We pulled into a parking space in front of a small florist shop that looked busy, but not terribly so. The bells on the door chimed as we entered, and a man smiled at us from behind the counter.

"Hello, welcome to floral expressions, how can I help you other than the obvious?"

I pulled out my phone and showed him a picture of a blue arrangement I had found online.

"Could you possibly throw something like this together?" The man studied the picture.

"Of course, and you're in luck, I think I have just enough blue dahlias left for that!" He turned to Tommy. "And you, young man?"

Tommy pulled out a picture that was actually a mess of images. I could tell exactly what the mess was supposed to mean, though, and I saw my sister in every single picture.

"I know it's not an arrangement, but do you think you could create something that you think matches your idea of this photo?" The man thought for a moment.

"This is a really unique way to do it, but yeah, I think I could. It'll be a nice creative challenge." We paid, and he informed us it would take an hour. We decided to leave and come back when the arrangements were done.

"Ok, so, first of all, I'm buying Claire a set up because her old one is just shit. And second, we have to find somewhere that sells rings, like promise rings, not engagement rings obviously." He rambled and I laughed.

"Alright, that seems good to me. I was thinking about promise rings too." So we researched the area on google maps, and picked up the pieces for Claire's set up first. It truly was the best money could buy, and Tommy was very excited. Finding a decent jewelry shop was surprisingly difficult. We finally found somewhere we liked, and we spent a good 15 minutes looking at the variety of rings together.

I settled on a sterling silver ring set. One ring had a sun engraved in it, and the other had a moon. It felt right. After buying it, I went over to Tommy. He had his eyes set on a very pretty ring set. One ring was rose gold, with a beautifully set flower and carefully shaped leaves, and the other was more of a warm gold with autumn leaves cut out of the thick band.

"Why those two?" I asked curiously.

"She's delicate but tough, like the plants that stick it out in the winter to make it to spring, and she says I'm pretty but can be a pain, just like the surprising cold winds in autumn." I smiled.

"You know what, I approve. That was a very good way to explain it." He beamed and I grinned. We left the store and returned to the florist to pick up our arrangements. Mine was even better than the picture, and Tommy's was exactly how you'd picture Claire as a floral arrangement, as weird as it sounds.

We arrived back in the driveway of the house before noon, and we both paused to breathe a moment.

"You ready?" I asked him.

"As I'll ever be." He breathed. We unloaded everything, and as I went up the stairs to George's room, I heard Claire's excited voice from below. I smiled to myself. Then I knocked lightly on George's door.

He called a greeting and I opened the door to see him and Sapnap bickering over something. They both looked up as I entered with the bouquet and the wrapped rings.

"AUOOOOO," Sapnap cooed. I rolled my eyes.

"Happy Valentine's," I said to George.

"Go get a vase, dumbass." George shooed away Sapnap, who jumped off the bed and ran out the door.

He carefully unwrapped the ring box, and smiled when he opened it. I showed him the ring on my finger and he covered his mouth with his hand.

"Thank you Dream." I tipped his chin up and kissed him.

"I promised you this was forever, and I never break my promises." I murmured. He pulled me into another kiss, and I fell apart.

"I GOT THE VASE." I looked up as Sapnap yelled, holding up a crystal blue vase.

"So put the flowers in it, you dumbfuck." George gestured. Sapnap narrowed his eyes.

"Don't call me that, British bitch."

"I call you whatever I want to, now put the flowers in the vase."

"What's the magic word?" Sapnap said in a sing-song voice.

"Please put the flowers in the vase."

"Actually, it was Karlnap, but that's ok." I laughed and George rested his head on my lap, defeated.

"Your gift is in your room," George said after a moment.

"I think I'll stay here for a while," I replied. Sapnap grabbed a remote and flicked on George's tv. George shifted so that he was resting his head on my chest, legs in the middle of mine, and Sapnap flopped down next to me, head on my shoulder.

That's how we stayed, watching cheesy romantic comedies and commenting when characters were about to kiss.

And for that one moment, everything was perfect.

And then that moment ended.
