George awoke to the sound of silence, as usual. He sat up, stretching his arms. He grabbed his sweatshirt off the floor from the night before, throwing it over his head. He walked into the bathroom, frowning at his messy hair. He ran his hands through it a couple times, satisfied when it returned to its normal state.
George looked at his phone. His timeline on Twitter was filled with people and art. He liked a few tweets, then reloaded the page, bored. A new tweet caught his eye.
"Yeah, minecraft youtubers get along over call and in game. But would they get along in real life? Treat the rt button as signing a petition for all the mcyttwt ccs to move in together."
George raised his eyebrows. It was a simple challenge. Although it was posted only 57 seconds ago, it already had 133 retweets, presumably more to come. As a joke, George retweeted it. He scrolled some more, forgetting about it. He looked up from his phone, sighing. He and Dream planned to record a video later that day with a plug in they'd coded, but he still had a while before then. The sky outside his flat was gray and boring.
"Typical London weather." He said to no one in particular. He heard light pitter pattering behind him, and turned around to see Cat. He jumped onto his lap, purring.
"You only love me when you want breakfast. Fine, come on then." George stood up, Cat following him to the kitchen where the food bowl was. He poured some food into Cat's bowl, yawning. He wandered over to fridge, opening it. There was nothing appealing, so he turned instead to the pantry. He groaned. There was nothing appealing in the pantry either.
Then, as all people do, he opened the fridge again as if he hoped food would magically appear. Nothing did, of course, so he decided to settle for cereal. He grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard, and dumped an unholy amount of fruit loops in along with some milk.
His phone buzzed. He ignored it. Then it buzzed again and again and again.
"Oh my God, what is it." He opened his phone. He had 6 messages from Dream, along with 2 missed calls. He also had at least a message each from everyone he knew. He called Dream first. Dream's sleepy voice greeted him.
"GEORGE! What did you do?!"
"What do you mean what did I do?" George replied.
"You retweeted some stupid petition tweet about all of us moving in together, and now dttwt and the rest of the world is tweeting and messaging me about whether we're moving in." Dream said, annoyed.
"So? It was just a joke." George laughed.
"Tell that to Harvey, Zak, Bad, Techno, Ponk, and God knows who else!"
"They actually want to?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah, they do. And they want me to pay for it."
"Well why not?"
"Why not? Because we- well- I don't know, it's inconvenient?" Dream stumbled, trying to come up with a reasonable answer.
"Think about it Dream. When Spifey, Harvey, and Zak moved in, they got significantly more views. Why not rent a big place in some small town in Oregon or something, invite everyone to come and live there for a year, and if it goes well, we can stay there indefinitely."
"George, you sound insane. And this sounds like something straight out of a fanfic!"
"Well, I mean at first I retweeted it as a joke but now that I think about it I think it could be fun!"
"I'm not paying for it." Dream said grudgingly.
"Wait you actually want to do it?"
"For a year. That's it."
"And of course we won't make you pay for it. We'll split it."
"Alright, fine. You message people about it. I'm going back to bed."
"Ok. Have a good rest."
"Goodnight George."
He heard the ding marking the end of the call. What had started out as a dreary day and changed into something exciting. He looked through his messages, trying to deem the best way to invite people. Applications? Applications could work. He clicked the tweet button.
"Anyone who'd like to apply to become a part of the MCYT Not So Hype house, please reply to this tweet with your application."
Sent.
He laid back in the chair, glancing down at his empty cereal bowl. He stood up, setting it in the sink. How was this going to work?
There would have to be excellent internet. Maybe even separate internet for everyone. There would need to be space for everyone's setups. Would there be girls?
Ew, George thought, answering that question.
Unless you count Finn, who doesn't really count.
He opened twitter again, splaying out on his couch. There were already replies from Techno, Harvey, and Zak.
"TapL's application to join MNSHH
I'm a pretty cool guy :L "
"Techno's application to join the Not So Hype house
I promise not to murder anyone.
For now."
"Skeppy's application to join whatever the heck this is
Please let me in. Please. I'm lonely."
George liked all three replies. That was 5 people so far, counting himself. He knew there would be many more to come though. There were replies from fans too. He scrolled through them all, laughing at the silliness of their followers and just dttwt in general.
He opened a website that had houses listed in the states. Oregon sounded the best to him for some reason. He looked along the coast. There was a place in Lincoln City that caught his eye. It was formerly a hotel, but had a very homey feel. It had over 10,000 square feet and 22 bedrooms. It was quite expensive to rent, but that was no surprise given the size of it. He scrolled through the floor plan, making sure everyone would have space for their setups. It looked perfect. He sent the link to Dream.
Cat had finished eating his food, and hopped up onto the couch next to George, curling into a ball. George pet the soft sphere of fur, smiling to himself.
"Well, Cat. Today has already been quite epic." He hummed. "Quite epic indeed."

an: yes I am aware this isn't very realistic. It's a story :)
next update will be soon. idk when. I'm thinking 1000 words per chapter is pretty good, and reasonable if I want to do weekly updates. This chapter was kind of an introduction to things, I think we'll do a time skip next chapter but no promises ;)
Bye for now <3
