3 weeks later
"Sammy!" I yelled, hearing him laugh before walking up behind me, placing his hand on my hip as he looked over my shoulder, reading the files. "We lost another." He sighed, resting his head on my shoulder as I nodded. "Yeah, whatever is happening to them over in Ethiopia is seeping in quickly as soon as they get the medical attention they need here." I replied, running my fingers over the paper. "I've lost 20 people in a matter of 3 weeks." He sighed, pressing his forehead against my shoulder as I closed my eyes, my head dropping. "It seems like bringing them over from Ethiopia was the easy part of it." I stated as he nodded, squeezing my hip gently. "How about you and I go on a little walk? Get some coffee?" He asked, turning his head to look at me, a smile on my lips. "Is Dr. Sammy Navon asking me on a date?" I teased, turning to look at him while his hand stayed on my hip, my back pressed to the table.
He jokingly scrunched up his nose, shaking his head. "No, I would never." He replied, shaking his head as I laughed, my head leaning back. "Good, because that would be a very bad thing." I stated, my hand resting on his cheek before he laughed, nodding. "So bad. We couldn't do that to Ari." Sammy smiled, pressing his forehead to mine as I nodded. "Yeah, terrible idea. So, coffee? As friends?" I asked, while he nodded. "Coffee as friends." He smiled, stepping back while we walked out of the clinic.
Ari had created a plan, showing it to the board of directors. "This is ridiculous Ari, you're wanting us to buy you a fake resort as cover?" Mossad stated, looking at Ari, his back pressed against the oak of the desk. "Here's the deal, you get Agent Addi back on board, we'll consider it, but this is so outlandish it's insane. She seems to keep you on the right path." Mossad said, as Ethan sighed, looking over at Ari who was kicking his right foot with his left. "So you mean to tell me, if I can get Addi on board with this, you'll do it?" Ari asked, while Mossad nodded, his arms crossed against his chest. "Fine. Ethan do you know where I can find Addi?" Ari asked, turning his body to look at his boss who sighed, walking out the door with Ari on his heels. "She's working at Sammy's clinic, a nurse." Ethan said as Ari nodded. "Keep them here." Ari stated as Ethan nodded, watching the brunette walk out the door.
I sat across from Sammy, my fingers locked around the mug while I smiled at him. "What's got you so happy?" I asked, seeing his shit eating grin across his face. "You're laughing and smiling again. It's been a long time since I've seen that." Sammy spoke, reaching across the table to take my hand. "Sammy, no." I warned seeing him pull back his had, a defeated sigh leaving his lips. "We've spent every day together since we've left the mission, you don't feel anything?" He asked, looking up at me as I shook my head. "Sammy, I love you dearly as a friend, but my heart is still Ari's." I whispered, seeing him purse his lips and nodding. "Do you regret leaving?" He asked, watching me drop my eyes to my mug. "Yeah. Do you?" I returned the question, his head nodding. "Yeah, but it's time to get back to the clinic." He mumbled, standing up as we made our way over to the clinic down the road.
"Miss Addison, you have a patient in room 5, asked specifically for you." A nurse told me, handing me a clipboard before shoving me in the direction of the room. "Yes ma'am thank you." I smiled, knocking on the door before opening it, freezing when I saw Ari. "Hey cupcake." Ari smiled, my heart stopping as I looked at him. "Ari?" I whispered, setting my clipboard down before walking over to him, his legs spreading so I could stand between them. "How are you?" He asked, placing his hands on my hips, a smile forming on my lips as I placed both hands on his cheeks, leaning down and kissing him with everything in me. "I missed you too." He whispered, pressing his forehead to mine when we pulled away. "You're not here to see me." I laughed, seeing the backpack next to him as he sighed. "I am, for multiple reasons." He smiled, watching me stand up as he pressed his head to my chest, allowing me to run my fingers through his hair, a sigh of relief leaving his lips. "Tell me the important one first. Not the business one." I whispered, his lips pressing a kiss to the center of my chest.
