Chapter 8: WARRIORS

The scene shows the aftermath of the rescue mission. Following the path to the castle, they found Connie, Krista, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Ymir. Unfortunately, the other scouts there were killed while saving them, but they were fortunate enough to get there in time. Now, they're on the wall to try and get a better idea on what the hell's going on.

Oswald was with Hange and Krista, whose real name was Historia, as the girl was trying to convince Hange that Ymir was on their side.

Historia: please, you gotta believe me. I'm telling the truth. Ymir could've run away anytime she wanted, she chose to fight the titans to save our lives. She had nothing to gained from putting herself on the line like that. Doesn't that speak volumes at where her loyalties are?

Zen Aku: not entirely.

Oswald's Thoughts: what's that suppose to mean?

Zen Aku: the girl's personality is the kind that only looks out for herself, and everyone else is just an inconvenience to her. That trait is still there. However, it seems that her time with Historia changed that a bit, but only so far. My guess is that if the girl's life wasn't on the line, she would've just left the others to die like that.

Oswald: (to Historia) why didn't she tell you or any of us?

Historia: it's true she had no right to keep this from us. But I think...I think she did it because she was scared about what people might do to her. (Determined) but clearly her priorities have changed. This isn't nearly as complicated as it looks. No is closer to Ymir better then me. And there's no question in my mind whose side she's on.

Hange: (after a moment) is that so? Well, under the circumstances it certainly behoves us as to who'd be friendly. Her priorities aside, I'll wager to believe that whatever she can teach us is beyond measure. Probably. Even so... (starts walking to the scouts) you say that this isn't as complicated as it looks, but from where I'm standing, the world gets more complicated by the hour. (Beat) oh, uh, Historia Reiss you said your name was?

Historia: I did, that's correct.

Hange: isn't Reiss the name of a noble family?

They stop and Historia looks down.

Historia: yes it is.

Oswald: then that means you're like a princess? Or a queen?

Hange: yes and no, buddy. We'll explain later. For now, (places hand on Historia's shoulder) Historia, nice to meet you.

Historia: thank you.

They approach the scouts where Ymir was unconscious on a stretcher with a scout cloak covering her as a blanket and her tied up to keep her from moving.

Hange: how's she doing?

Moblit: she's in a comatose state but the bleeding's stopped. There's also steam coming out of her wounds.

Hange: our best course of action would be to take her to Trost where the poor girl can get treatment.

Nifa: we'll see to it, ma'am.

Hange: right then. Back to our main task—find the breach and patching it up.

As the two walk away, Historia notices Oswald looking off.

Historia: are you alright, sweetie?

Oswald: yeah, it's just... Something about all this isn't right. (Thoughts) I don't understand. How could've the wall have been breached again if it is true that titans are inside it? If it was near a district we'd know sooner. And, titans are supposed to be inactive at night. So, if that's the case, how did these new ones come here?
