Picking up where we left off, the scene the four titans still fighting they held their ground for now, but it definitely wasn't going so good. Annie kept her right hand guarding her nape as due to her four year coma, her hardening had been used up. And on top of that, her movements were slightly slower compared to her first attacks. Thankfully, the others kept their guards up and were able to defend each other.
But, that might not be good either way. Because down below, the others received more bad news.
Hange: what?
Levi: the fuck do you mean it's not finished!?
Mechanic: I'm sorry but it's the truth. We need an entire day to service the boat before it will be able to fly. That time can probably be cut in half with the right equipment, but even that might be a stretch.
Magath: are you kidding me? You mean we have to hold off the enemy for half a day while you work?
Levi: we don't have that time with reinforcements incoming. It's impossible to hold here for that long
Magath: our titans are only able to fight for a few hours at a time.
Hange: we'll be too late. The Wolves and the Rumbling can outpace a sprinting horse, and there isn't a single obstacle out there that can slow them down. They're an unyielding wave of destruction. Half a day from now, they'll be 600 kilometers inland. And that's just the Colossi alone. Fenrir's wolves are already in other parts of the world. They could flatten the entire continent in four days.
Levi: even if we get that ship in the air, Liberio and most of Marley will still fall. There's no way to save it.
Jean gasps as he remembers the first night he had there. He was drinking with a new friend and was genuinely happy. The thought of him dying as enough to realize this was pointless.
Jean: damnit.
Magath: we still don't know either Fenrir's or Eren's location. And time is working against us. More are dying each second. And regardless, we've got no chance of holding out long enough to ready the ship. There's no way.
Kiyomi: I have an idea.
She leads them to the back room where there's a map and points to a specific city.
Kiyomi: Odiha is a costal city in Marley some distance to the south. We own and operate a hanger there. If we can reach it, it'll be an ideal servicing station for the flying boat. I think we should set sail for that hanger now and tow the boat behind us. Then we can finish prepping it for flight on the continent, under more favorable conditions.
Hange: interesting. A city on the coast, huh? Hold on, isn't it about to be wiped out by the titans?
Kiyomi: we would beat the titans there. But I don't know how much time we'd have before they caught up. I can only say that we'd be cutting it close. This would be a gamble.
Levi: tch! If I had a dollar every time we had gambles I'd be done from this life.
Magath: whatever the case, clearly we won't be flying from this port. (To the mechanics) does the ship have fuel?
Mechanic: yes.
Mechanic 2: but it'll take 30 minutes to ready the boiler.
Magath: make it 15! If you screw up and die here, then Hizuru and the rest of the world are doomed! Make it count!
Mechanics: yes sir!
Jean: I'll go inform Petra and the others.
Levi: Hange and I will do the same for Mikasa.
