The ring of the old phone echoed into Karl's office. He picked his head up from his papers and got up to get the phone.

"Hello, this is Moon Rivers Optometry. How may I help you?"

"Karl."

Karl widened his eyes. "Uh...yes that's me. Who is this?"

"It's Sapnap. We don't know each other but-"

"No I know you. You're from George's stories." Karl replied.

"Oh. Then...yeah. Hi. Um, do you think I could talk to George-"

"No. Sorry but he's not here right now and I don't think he wants to talk to you again."

"No this is urgent Karl. I need to talk to George. Dream isn't...doing well."

Karl frowned. "What do you mean?"

Sapnap sighed. "He's heartbroken. He has been in such a bad depressing state ever since George left him. I think he needs to hear his voice."

Karl sighed. "Sapnap- I just don't know. I don't think George is prepared to talk to Dream again. From what I heard from the story, George's been through some really traumatic stuff."

"Karl, I have too. So has Dream. We all have."

Karl picked at his nails. "Ok. I'll just tell George. So HE can decide when he's ready to call. And I'll give him this phone number."

"Thank you Karl. I'll talk to you later."

Karl nodded at the phone and hung up.

Dream smiled at Sapnap coming down the stairs. "Good morning."

Sapnap gave a puzzled look at Dream. "Uh...morning Dream."

Dream chuckled. "Why do you seem so hesitant right now?"

Sapnap scoffed and took a seat at the island, staring at Dream. "Well for one you're up early, and two your cooking breakfast which smells..." Sapnap leaned forwards and wafted the air at his nose, "-really, really good. And looks good too."

Dream rolled his eyes jokingly. "Oh so what I was never a cook before?"

"No! No of course not I know you've always been good at cooking it's just you've been..." Sapnap made eye contact with Dream.

Dream nodded. "I get it." He looked down and continued grilling the bacon.

Sapnap sighed. "Thank you Dream."

Dream shrugged. "No worries."

The scraping from the spatula's contact on the pan filled in the silence. A few more bacon sizzles passed.

"Dream?"

Dream kept his focus on the pan. "Yeah?"

"I'm glad we're here. Together. I know none of us want to admit it but we'd be lonely without each other. So I'm glad we're together."

Sapnap looked at Dream. "I mean it dude."

Dream finally raised his head and gazed into Sapnap's eyes. "I know you mean it. I'd miss you too."

Sapnap smiled. "Well um...have you like- gotten any calls or anything yet?"

Dream scoffed. "That's a weird question."

Sapnap shrugged and hopped off the chair, not necessarily needing to do anything, so he just walked around aimlessly. "Just wondering."

"What, do I need to expect a call soon?" Dream looked up at Sapnap.
