The door unlocked and Eret motioned for Dream to come in.
Dream stepped in and waited for Eret to follow.
"How are we going to find them here?" Dream skipped past the decontamination room and walked into the cell room.
"Are you good friends with that subject?" Eret pointed to Sapnap.
"Sapnap? Yeah, I am. Why?" Dream asked.
"Is there anything he can do besides...fire?" Eret asked.
"Uh..." Dream looked at Sapnap smiling at him. "He once brought me to a memory."
Eret lifted an eyebrow. "Hm. Let's try that."
"What?" Dream turned towards Sapnap.
"Try and see if he can bring any more memories back. They could be useful," Eret stated.
Dream sighed and accepted the strange man's request. He stepped into Sapnap's cell and sat down.
"Hi, Sappy." Dream smiled as Sapnap took his hand.
"Dream!" Sapnap traced a smiley face onto Dream's hand.
Dream chuckled softly. "Sapnap, can you bring me to another memory? Of mine?"
Sapnap looked up at Dream. "Memory time?"
Dream glanced at Eret. Eret nodded. Dream turned back to Sapnap. "Yes, memory time."
Sapnap's smile faded away, as he stuck his tongue out in concentration and held both of Dream's hands.
Dream closed his eyes and felt a cool breeze brush against his face. He opened them.
As he looked around he saw various trees and hills, accompanied by a beautiful sunset.
"Is it nice, in color?"
Dream looked to his right and jumped as he saw a brunette male with a blue shirt on.
"It is. But I'm sure what you're seeing is just as pretty."
Dream turned to his left, and was taken back from seeing himself, but younger. Not too young, but at least a year younger. He had a green hoodie on and longer hair.
"It's yellow and brown, Dream. How could that be pretty?"
Dream looked back to the brunette boy. He leaned in closer and looked at his face. "George?"
"You make it pretty, George," Dream heard his younger self say.
Dream blinked and saw himself back with Sapnap.
"Memory?" Sapnap asked.
"I saw George?" Dream said, confused about his surroundings still.
"George? The invisible boy?" Eret asked.
Dream nodded slowly. "But...I never knew him before working here?"
"But we were friends," Sapnap said quietly.
Dream looked back at Sapnap. "We...we were." Dream stared at the wall for a minute.
Eret looked at Dream weirdly zoning out and furrowed his eyebrows. "Dream? Is there a...problem?"
Dream thought back through all of the memories he knew. He quickly got up and rushed out the door.
"Dream! Where are you going?!" Eret jogged behind Dream.
"Schlatt's office, I'm going alone," Dream replied bluntly.
Eret looked at Dream quizzically and kept following him. "What? Why?"
"I said I'm going alone, Eret. Let me be." Dream stopped and turned around. "This has everything to do with me."
"What- how-"
"Goodbye Eret." Dream turned back around and headed towards Schlatt's office, leaving Eret behind, still confused.
As Dream approached the door he raised his hand to knock. He stopped and squeezed his eyes shut, wincing as a memory flashed back to him.
"I don't know. My family is poor, and they need help. I don't know how I'll get it, but I'll find a way."
"Niki, I'm so sorry. You don't have to keep helping me if I'm too much."
"Dream, you're not too much. I love assisting you in your work. Just call me if you need anything, ok?"
"Ok."
Dream gasped and opened his eyes. He blinked hard to shake off the dizzy feeling and collected himself. He knocked slowly on the door, once, twice, three times.
No response. Dream sighed and tried the handle. It was unlocked. He opened the door and slowly stepped in, quietly clicking it closed behind him.
