"So, how did it work?"
Eret sighed and stared out into the vivid sunset. "I had a friend, who had amnesia. Naturally, not in the way I got it. Their family was so desperate to save them. So they searched and searched until they found an option that reached out. It was some sort of medical operation, they used drugs and rays."
Dream silently listened.
Eret cleared his throat and stared dismally into his cup. "They died."
Dream's breath hitched.
"It's ok. It was a long time ago." Eret could sense Dream's shock and sympathy.
The two quieted and let the nature sounds fill in the silence as they stared at the sky.
"So how did you get your memories back?" Dream asked, breaking the silence.
"I went the natural way," Eret replied.
Dream turned to face Eret. "What's the natural way?"
Eret looked at Dream. "I left the research foundation. Told them I was injured. Well, I was. They insisted on me staying, but I convinced them that my work would be affected if I did. So I went away, and came here, to this abandoned house that I renovated. Then I contacted everyone I knew. I met up with them every day, and eventually, I learned more and more about them and our past relationships. And then one day, it just clicked. Everything came back to me, and I could remember everything. I was so happy that day."
Eret finished talking and observed Dream.
"That sounds simple," Dream responded.
"It may be in certain parts, but when you do finally remember, you'll have to be prepared. Some things from the past can hurt."
Dream smirked. "Well, not as much as my experience at the Foundation, right?"
Eret chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you have been through a lot. I'm sure your past life isn't harsher than that."
"Definitely." Dream smiled and turned to the dusky sky. "I guess I should start tomorrow, then."
"You got this, Dream," Eret reassured.

"WAKE UP! MORNING TIME BOYS!" Wilbur clapped his hands and marched around the couches and guests lying in sleeping bags on the floor.
"Ughhh. Just give me like, 3 more hours." Tubbo covered his face with a pillow.
Ranboo followed Wilbur around quietly.
Wilbur looked at Ranboo. "See Ranboo? This is fun! Let's wake up Techno."
"⏁⊑⟟⌇ ⟟⌇ ⌇⏁⎍⌿⟟⎅." Ranboo followed Wilbur out of the living room.
"Bad where are your glasses?" Skeppy looked around the kitchen as the light brown-headed boy rested his head down on the counter.
"Skeppy I don't need them it's ok." Bad waved Skeppy off and groaned.
Skeppy returned to Bad and sighed. "Bad you're getting worse."
Bad sat up properly and looked at Skeppy, his face pale and eyes tired. "I know, Skeppy. You need to let Halo come out a bit-"
"Stop, Bad. Just- stop. I don't want Halo. I want you and I want you to stay here not-"
"I can't keep him inside for much longer. Halo has a kind side, Skeppy. You just need to be open-minded."
Skeppy clenched his fist in frustration, but released it, realizing that his lover was exhausted. He took a deep breath. "Ok, Bad. You can let him take over."
Bad nodded.
"Wait, just-" Skeppy leaned forwards and planted a kiss on Bad's cheek. "I love you."
Bad smiled softly. "I'll come back, I promise."
Skeppy nodded. "I know. Just, I love you."
"I love you too."
Bad breathed deeply and closed his eyes. Slowly, the black enveloped his face and body and Halo opened his blank eyes.
He stretched and yawned. "Wow, well that took a long time," he said sarcastically.
Skeppy felt a flame ignite in his chest. "Welcome back, Halo," he said through gritted teeth.
Halo laughed. "What, no "good morning love" for me? Sad." Halo hopped off the seat and made his way into the living room; Skeppy hearing a startled scream from Tubbo.
Dream sat down and gently shook Sapnap. "Pssst. Wake up Sapnap."
Sapnap jumped up and gasped, accidentally lighting his shirt on fire.
Dream widened his eyes. "OH NO UHHHH-" Dream quickly grabbed a vase of flowers and took the flowers out, tossing the water onto Sapnap's shirt. The shirt hissed and the fire dissipated.
"Hey Dream- oh damn." Wilbur chuckled as he saw the mess that he stumbled upon.
"Yea uh- we had some fire issues." Dream glanced at Sapnap smiling.
"Well, I'll leave you to it. I don't think Eret prefers his home toasty." Wilbur laughed and left the room.
Dream turned back to Sapnap, who was already getting up and getting ready.
Dream quickly stood up and cleared his throat. "Ok so, Sapnap, I was thinking we should start getting my memories- both, of OUR memories back."
Sapnap turned to Dream and nodded. "Sounds good Dream!"
Dream nodded and smiled. "Ok, let's head out to the field."
Dream and Sapnap left the house and walked out into the field, sitting down on a patch of grass that was still green.
"Okay, so, I'm thinking we just do a regular conversation?" Dream suggested.
Sapnap nodded and smiled.
Dream took a deep breath, trying to think of what to say. "Okay, so, when did we become best friends?"
Sapnap cocked his head, trying to come up with an answer. "Uh...I thinks ever since 5?"
Dream chuckled at Sapnap's poor grammar. "Okay, what else?"
"Oh! What about...my memory thingy?"
Dream quizzically looked at Sapnap. Sapnap put his hands out.
"Ohhh! Yeah, we should definitely try that."
Dream put his hands into Sapnap's and closed his eyes. "Take me anywhere, memory boy."
guess who's back. me? maybe.
