When they got to Tegans front gate she turned around and said,
"Okay. Let's all hope this goes well. It should be okay considering we're ten minutes early." They walked up the front steps, Tegan took out her key and opened the door. When she opened the door Jessamine and Charlotte were standing in the dinning room cleaning the table.
"Your back! And you brought, friends?" Jess said, stepping around the table.
"Try not to sound so surprised Jess, this is Bobby, Alex, Reggie and Luke. You know, the band. Sunset Curve?" Tegan said.
"Ahhh yes Sunset Curve, heard a lot about you." She answered as she went back to cleaning the table. "You know your father is not going to like this." Charlotte answered.
"I know, I actually need to talk to him. Where is he?" Tegan asked. Jessamine said nothing and just looked at her, then looked at a closed door next to the lounge room. "Oh, um, okay, well- where's mom?" she asked again, slowly taking her bag off her shoulder. She pointed to the lounge and Tegan and the boys started to walk in that direction. "Mom?" Tegan called as she walked in.
"your back, and who's that?" Her mother asked.
"Bobby, Alex, Luke and Reggie. They invited me to join their band. And I wanted to ask you and dad but dad isn't here so, I'll ask you. Please" Tegan asked. Her mother closed up the book she was reading and said,
"You know I would love for you to do things with people and make friends and go out after school but what would your father have to say?"
"I don't care what he thinks about this, for 16 years all of done is stay inside, I think I should be able to make friends and do what I want to do!" Tegan answered. Luke stood there motionless because out of the few hours he spent with her today he didn't think she would be the kind to demand something like that. Her mother sighed and thought about it and eventually said,
"Alright. I'll say yes for now, but you have to be the one to talk with your father" her mother said as she stood up.
"Yes thank you so much mom!" She said with the the biggest smile on her face she ran over and hugged her mom. "Thank you so much!" She let go of her mom and walked back over to the boys. "You guys should probably get out of here, before my dad hears." She said. "But I'll see you guys tomorrow?" Luke and the boys nodded as they turned to leave. Tegan walked them out and as they walked to the front gate she called,
"Hey Luke! Thanks for the invite."
"Thanks for saving my butt in class." He answered. Tegan stood at the door and watched him walk down the street until she couldn't see him anymore, closed the door and went to bed.

Tegan woke up the next morning, and couldn't remember the last time she woke up so happy and excited. Today she left her hair down aside from her usual bun or braid, she wore ripped jeans and a UCLA shirt her sister gave her.
"Morning mom, morning dad." She said hopping down the stairs to go eat breakfast.
"Where'd you get the shirt?" Her mother asked.
"Sara gave it to me when she was here last." She answered, waving at Jessamine. She sat silently with her mom and looked over to talk to her dad, who looked half asleep at the table so she decided not to. She saw Luke standing at the corner and of the sidewalk and decided to take off early. "I'm going to go, bye mom bye dad." Her mother waved as she ran down the street to catch up with Luke. "Hey!" She called.
"Hey, what's up." He said.
"Nothing. Are you heading to school?" She asked.
"Yeah, did you talk to your dad?" He questioned. She hesitated for a second and then answered.
