The next week was pretty much a blur. I don't remember a lot other than the fact that I almost fell asleep in History multiple times, Luke had to keep poking me in the back with a pencil to keep me awake. I went to the garage right after school on Thursday and immediately crashed onto the couch. I guess I dozed off for I don't know how long but Luke and Alex had fun waking me up with a power cord and drum solo. I peaked over the side of the couch to see Reggie and Bobby losing their minds laughing behind the two Alex was waving and Luke was still spreading more cords on his guitar.
"Was that really necessary?" I asked annoyed.
"Nah it was fun though." Alex said flipping his drum sticks. I forced my self up and hobbled over to the group spinning into a stool.
"How longs it been?" I asked flipping hair out of my face.
"An hour." Luke said. I can only imagine the look on my face at that moment.
"It's only been an hour?" I asked surprised. It felt like I'd been sleeping for hours. He nodded. I groaned a little. "I've been getting a whole six hours instead of four as of late. Okay can we talk about something other than the fact that I'm sleep deprived." I said trying to change the subject.
"Well, okay, are you excited for tomorrow?" Reggie asked.
"Yes and thank you for changing the subject and yes, I'm am really excited, that first time we performed." I turned to Luke and said "you were right about that feeling, that rush, your right you don't get it anywhere else."
"Next time listen to me, you wouldn't of been so nervous and stressed out before hand." Luke said.
"Noted." I said grabbing my notebook and flipping through some songs I was working on. I thought about showing the guys but I never did. I felt a pair of eyes on me as I looked through my book.
"What are you looking at?" Luke asked. I looked up at him to see a stupid curious grin on his face. I rolled my eyes and joked a little bit with him.
"Nothing of your concern." I said.
"Huh. You sparked my interest." He said putting his guitar back on the stand next to him.
"God a few weeks here with you I should of known better to have said nothing. But song writer to song writer, you know that this," I said holding up the book. "It is off limits unless the owner says other wise."
"Ohh, so you consider yourself a song writer now." He said. I laughed a little realizing what thought I gave him. "That's a good thing, finally figuring out you have talent, not just singing, Cmon you know I'm right." I hesitated and shook my head, smiling a little bit.
"Maybe I do like songwriting." I said.
"Oh yeah and don't forget the part about the fact that your amazing at it." Bobby added.
"I second that." Reggie said.
"Thanks guys. Maybe one day you'll see the secrets my book holds." I said dramatically throwing it back in my bag.
"C'mon please I'm sure their amazing." Luke pleaded. I sighed and said
"Alright, Alright, I'll-"
"Yes you'll show us!" Luke said cutting me off.
"I'll show you eventually, I have one I've been working on, it's not done yet let me work on it a little and then I'll show you." I explained.
"Just don't loose any sleep over it okay?" Alex said.
