Chapter 26- Jealousy

Nicholas' POV

Emmett and I had started a snow ball fight at the top of the hill against Jasper and Edward, we were having so much fun but every now and then I would look down towards the Jeep to check on Ahria, I felt like I had to protect her for some reason. Another few snow balls were thrown before I checked on her again only to be frozen in shock when I realised she was gone. I quickly looked over to where Edward was stood, he had Bella in his arms staring towards where Ahria should of been. Looking to where Blake and his friends were I realised Blake was not with them, that's when Adam catches my eye and smirks. That did it. I run as quickly as humanly possible and grasped Adam around the collar removing his feet from the ground, his face showed emotions of horror, 'good' I thought. Before I could say anything to the little weasel in my hands Emmett and Edward were there prying me off him.

"Leave it Nick" Edward said through his teeth "he doesn't know where they are" he said trying to convince me to not harm Adam. I looked at Edward and nodded slightly and released my fists so Adam went falling to the floor. All throughout the brief encounter Adam squirmed and shouted foul words towards me.

"You're a looney!" Adam shouted as he got back up to his feet, I ignored him and turned to walk away when he said "why the hell should I know where that little bitch is!"

At this point my mind went blank to the point I didn't know what was happening, the next thing I know I lunged backwards towards Adam aiming straight for his throat. Just as I launched myself Alice screeched for Emmett and he caught me in mid-air taking me straight to the floor. I tried with all my will to get out of this grasp but he was just to strong, and I was too angry to use my power. As I was on the floor within Emmett's grasp Adam laughed, and in the next second all the other males of our family took in one step towards him ready to knock him out, except it was Ness who got there first giving Adam a massive right hook sending him back to the ground clutching his face.

"Nobody calls any member of my family names!" She screamed towards Adam who was now running towards his friends who all headed for their car. After I had calmed down Emmett slowly released me and I got up pulling him with me. As my family began to discuss what had happened my mind went back to why it started.

"Ahria" I said aloud. Everyone ceased their words and they all became very still. Edwards hand rested on my shoulder and with the other one he pointed towards the forest by the cars.

"She is fine" he told me with a gentle voice. "I can hear Blake's thoughts, and though he would like to be more than just friends he is happy with being just friends and he would never harm her" he reassured "but that Adam boy, I wouldn't stop you from trying to kill him again" he added in a harsh tone.

"Edward!" Esme scolded from a few meters away and Edward replied "you don't know what he was thinking" he said in a blank voice. My anger started to rise again at Edwards words until I spotted Ahria come through the trees, then all my anger disappeared and replaced with relief.

"She really has an effect on you doesn't she bro" Jasper said from

Behind me, I sighed and nodded "yeah, she does" I admitted.

I watched as Ahria and Blake talked at the bottom of the hill, her face was lit up with her beautiful smile and I could hear her wonderful laughter like she was standing next to me. That's when Blake saw all his mates standing at his car, they spoke some words about what had happened and then Ahria turned to face me. Her face was full of anger and disapproval, she then turned back and faced Blake and Adam who were talking. I could see Adams eyes on her like she was a bit of meat.

Edward came close to my ear and whispered "you can kill him now" through gritted teeth. I hated how there was so much space between Ahria and I, all of my family members probably had the same thought as we all started to descend the hill, we reached the cars in a few seconds and I automatically when to Ahria's side, she didn't even acknowledge my presence.

"Come on kids, it's time to leave" Esme shouted at human level. At that Ahria gave Blake a hug and said goodbye, I stayed put as she walked away and I noticed Adams eyes on her again. My hatred blazed once more and if the look I gave him could have killed he would be dead several hundred times over. He gave me little smirk and turned to walk away with Blake in tow.

When the Black pick-up with Blake and his friends had left, we were almost ready to leave when Ahria came straight up to me and stopped, she stood there staring at me, I couldn't even guess her emotions, her face looked blank. Suddenly her hand rose up and crashed onto the side of my face. Probably causing her more pain than it did me, though the sheer force of the slap sent my head to the right. As the rest of my family saw what had just happened they crowed us, Emmets holding onto my arms and Jasper holding onto her.

"What's your problem!" She shouted louder than needed. I was still in a state of shock and didn't reply when she shouted "I heard everything! You had no right to attack Adam! I am capable of looking after myself!" While she shouted at me Carlisle and Esme were trying to calm her but it wasn't working. I could see her strength attempting to over power Jasper, he looked in a lot of pain, Ahria was probably influencing his emotions.

"Why!?... Go on then explain yourself!" She shouted "Nicholas!" She finally screamed, this gained my full attention and brought me out of my frozen self.

"Because.." I started slowly, I looked up and met her eyes "I love you".
