Chapter 8 - Spooked

Edwards POV

I could hear Ahria's mind working overtime. She was panicked and spooked, I didn't even have to look into Jaspers mind about her emotions to know that. She doesn't think she is good enough to have a family at all. I decided to talk to her but thought it might be better if I got abit closer to do so, bad move on my part. I spooked her and she as out of the back door as fast as she could go. 'Wow she was fast.' I thought. Suddenly everyone's thoughts were the same, to go after her and to bring her back. Even Rose was worried about her.

"No wait!" I half shouted just before anyone could run out after her. They all turned their heads to look at me.

"We should go after her!" Esme said in a worried motherly voice.

"We can't just let her go" cried my perfect little Nessie. She already had tears streaming down her face. So I pulled her to her feet and embraced her. Speaking into her hair I told her everything was going to be ok.

"Edward, why did she run?" Carlisle asked with a saddened expression.

"She doesn't think she is good enough to have a family like us, she has never had anyone who has cared for as we have. I think we just spooked her is all" I said remembering the thoughts in Ahria's mind.

"Why can't we go after her!" Rosalie spat. 'She really does care' I thought to myself.

"Calm down rose, she hasn't gone far. She wouldn't let her self run away from the only good thing in her life." I said hearing Ahria's thoughts about the meadow with the purple and lilac flowers. "She is in the meadow, not far from here. I think I should go and talk to her" I said. Knowing my mind reading gift would be handy. I looked towards Carlisle and he nodded. As I was leaving the room, Esme chimed "please bring my daughter home Edward." And from that comment I knew I had to try my best to convince Ahria she does deserve a family like us.
