Chapter 19- Normal life
Renesme's POV
Today was the day that my uncle Emmett would be trying out for the football team at school. The whole house hold was tense, today could go brilliantly well or it could go horribly wrong. Exposing our very secret. I lay next to my Jacob entwined into his warm embrace, just laying there not moving, not talking. But I did have my hand in contact with his handsome face, showing him all my thoughts, my worries and my love. We stared into each there eyes for what seemed like a lifetime, 'good thing we have more than one life time together' I thought, then I pushed my thoughts through my hand to my Jacobs mind, showing him in pictures of us spending lifetimes together. His smile branched across his face and without noticing, mine followed. He gently brought his head closer to mine and rested his lips on my forehead, kissing me sweetly. Cut off abruptly by the loud beeping noise coming from the bedside table we both groaned, looking into each others eyes again I quickly kissed him on the lips and darted from the bed, hoping he wouldn't catch me and hold me captive. I giggled the whole time as I dashed out from the covers, but soon realised Jacob reaching for me. I squealed in delight as his giant hand almost captured my arm but luckily the bed was not big enough and he toppled off landing on the floor with a loud 'Thud'. This made my giggles turn into hysterical laugher.
"Ouch!" Jacob complained as his face made contact with the carpeted floor, as my laughter rang through different and uncharted octaves he began laughing too, unable to keep himself from joining in with me. "It's really not that funny Ness" he said huskily as he clambered to his feet while rubbing the side of his face which he landed on. My laughter died down as I realised he was staring at me. I was stood just a few meters away, And he was in a pounce position with a wicked smile on his tanned face. Eying the closest door to me -the bathroom- I edged slightly closer, he mimicked my movement making me feel like I was being hunted by an animal. I was actually, he just happened to be human right now. Making a sly smile reach across my face I bolted towards the bathroom door, just as my slender fingers reached the door handle two giant strong arms wrapped around my waist causing me to scream out. Before I knew it we were heading for the floor, somehow Jacob twisted so I ended laying on top of his muscular chest, giggling my head off.
"I love your laugh" he whispered into my hair. I smiled to myself and looked up to be met by his brown eyes looking adoringly at me. "And I love you" I said and kissed him on the lips. This time our kiss lasted longer and was more passionate. I felt like I was going to explode with the sensations, I couldn't get enough. Caught up in our passion I hadn't realised I now was on the floor under Jacobs massive body, his hands wrapped up in my hair. His soft lips caressing my own. Suddenly there was a loud knock at my bedroom door, ruining our moment for the second time today so far. It startled us both and we quickly bolted up right just in time for my mother and father to walk in.
"Good morning baby girl" my mother said as she made her way over to help me up from the floor. "Morning mom" I replied as I hugged her tightly. My father walked swiftly to my side, his face was expressionless, which scared me. "Morning dad" I said as I quickly but lovingly hugged him. His eyes were stuck on Jacob and whole time "good morning Renesme" he said looking down at me with a small smile. He then looked towards Jacob and nodded as he diverted his attention to my mother who had started to make my bed. "You two should get dressed, we will be leaving for school soon" my father said as he quickly left the room. I looked after him hoping he wasn't too mad at Jacob and I. I hadn't meant for anything to get out of control with us.
My mother walked back over to where I was standing and embraced me into her side, by this point Jacob had left the room to use the shower and to get ready for school. "Don't worry about your father" she said sweetly "he just can't help but see you as his little girl" she carried on, I quickly but in and removed myself from her embrace "but I'm not a little girl!" I whined. My mother gave me a look and then I quickly realised how juvenile I sounded. Lowering my head I whispered "I'm really not". Some cool slender fingers reached under my chin and tilted my head up, I was met by my mothers golden eyes staring back at me. "I know Renesme. But you have got to remember you are only eight." Just as I was about to protest a cool finger pressed against my lips, causing them to be silent. "And plus, your father does not need to hear yours or Jacobs thoughts when you are in.. That sort of mood" she added giving me the motherly look. No doubt Jacob could hear our conversation from the bathroom, so I went bright red. When my mother realised I had nothing to say she kissed my on the head and left the room leaving me to get ready for school.
The day went really quickly and before I knew it lunch time had arrived, my entire family and I excluding Emmett were sat on the bleachers awaiting for the tryouts to start. "I can't wait to see my man in action" Rosalie said excitedly, I noticed some of our family rolling their eyes and then I saw Jacob making a puking face. I quickly slapped him around the arm and he started to laugh. "Shut up dog" Rose hissed at him. "No, you shut up blondie" Jacob retorted. I looked at Ahria who I was sat next to and sighed "here we go again" I said. Ahria giggled a little and then set her attention back to the football pitch, where nothing was happening yet. Nick and Jacob were sat behind us, and on my other side I had my mother sitting next to me and next to her sat my father. Rosalie, Alice and Jasper sat in front of us.
I held no interest for football, I would only watch it occasionally if Uncle Emmett or Jacob were watching it and I had nothing else to do, so throughout the lunch time, the tryouts held a little of my attention and the only time I tried to understand what was happening was when Uncle Emmett was doing something. I saw him throw the ball furthest out of all the guys who were trying out, also he ran the quickest and tackled the hardest. He was for sure going to make the team. Even though he did really well I knew he wasn't using no where near his true vampire potential. 'Thank goodness' I thought, I saw my fathers head turn in my direction and nod, agreeing with my thoughts. Jacob and Nick sat behind me making so much noise, cheering for Emmett, at one point Emmett turned to face us and bowed after throwing a ball the furthest, this made our family laugh. I could hear each and every member of my family, and distinctly pick out each of their laughs and giggles, as I went around listening to each one I realised I could not hear Ahria's.
Quickly looking around I noticed she was not sat next to me anymore, I glanced at Nick hoping he knew where she was but his eyes were trained on something else. I followed his gaze and my eyes landed on Ahria, I let of a sigh of relief. She was stood talking to a tall guy who wearing the schools football uniform, she was smiling and giggling away, this made me smile to see her so happy. Of course with my brilliant hearing I could hear every word that was being said, but the way they were talking and their body language, I could tell they were good friends. Knowing Ahria was alright I turned my attention back to the field to see Emmett trotting toward us carrying his helmet in his hand, he had a massive smile of his face and didn't even look tired compared to the other guys trying out. Rosalie jumped to her feet elegantly and glided over to meet him, he embraced her passionately and they kissed for several minutes. I couldn't tell my other family members were getting uncomfortable, thankfully Jasper decided to skilfully clear his throat. Uncle Emmett and Aunt Rose broke contact but clasped onto each others hands as they both made their way to where we were sat.
"So, how did it go?" My father questioned, with an amused smile on his face. Emmett's smile got even wider "my name will definitely be on the list tomorrow!" He laughed a cocky laugh. My father rolled his eyes as Alice jumped up clapping her hands. She skipped over to stand in front of Emmett and beamed a brilliant smile at him "let me be the first to say, congratulations" she chimed and jumped slightly to wrap her arms around her bothers neck. Emmett caught her with ease and squeezed her back, if Alice had been a human she would have absolutely been snapped in half. By this point Ahria had rejoined us, I moved slightly to the side so Ahria and I were siting right next to each other, I looked at her and she smiled back at me. Raising my hand I lightly pressed it to her cheek and let her see images of her talking to the tall football player. She seemed to understand the unspoken question, "Blake and I are just friends" she replied in a truthful voice, I smiled at her and nodded knowing she was telling the truth. "Come on girls, it's nearly time for class" I heard my mother say from beside me, I grabbed Ahria's hand and we both followed our family.
