Ahrianna's POV
When the next morning came I was relieved, I had survived the night without any nightmares, maybe this was because I hadn't slept at all. I was curled up to Nicholas who had his eyes closed, I knew he wasn't sleeping but he would lay still the whole night to make sure I was safe. I was sure he knew I hadn't slept either, but he didn't ask questions. Nick had just laid there the whole night with me under his arm, while I silently laid with him. Some of the night I would try to slow my breathing to attempt to ease his mind that I had finally drifted off to a deep slumber. Did he believe the rouse, I do not know.
All throughout the night I was listening through the vast house, though it would be silent to a humans hearing, my vampire hearing heard everything. I knew Emmett was in the living room watching tv on mute. I could hear Carlisle in his study, tapping on the keyboard. And I could hear Esme's tiny feet flittering around the house, probably cleaning the already immaculate ornaments.
I couldn't even bring myself to look at the clock beside the bed, that would mean I would have to move. I spied out of the window, seeing the sun hadn't made it to my window yet I estimated it was around 9 in the morning. I sighed knowing I would have to get up and face this day.
Nicholas cottoned on to my mood and started to caress my face, swirling his cool fingers around my eyes and cheekbones. The sensation it left behind was unreal, but then again neither was he. After a few minutes it began to tickle and I could help but squirm under his arm, hiding my smile and face in his chest.
"That's more like it" he said pulling me out of my hiding place. We were eye to eye now. His deep golden eyes were turning darker at the edges, he would need to hunt soon. With that thought my own throat began to blaze. We were staring at each other which seemed to last a life time. Did we really have to get up and face the day. 'Yes I do' I told myself sternly. I quickly kissed Nicholas on the lips and bounced up from the bed and skipped to the bathroom, before I disappeared I stole a glance at my love. He was starting at me with a quizzical look, but he dropped it and smiled his enchanting smile at me, I couldn't help but smile back. Then I disappeared into the bathroom.
