"What are you doing?" Wen Kexing asked, hoping to any deity out there that this man that he loves is not actually planning on grilling a fish before carving out the organs first and cleaning it out.
"I'm trying to make up dinner," Zhou Zishu scoffed out.
He honestly was going to do it, holy shit, his beautiful love was really going to do it. He was so pretty but so stupid.
"Are you stupid?" Gu Xiang sighed, taking the dead fish from Zhou Zishu's hand and taking a dagger out. At least his sister was willing to say what Wen Kexing could not bring himself to. While he may have some trouble insulting his love out loud, Gu Xiang was more than happy to do so for him.
Bless her.
"A' Xiang, do that over there!" Wen Kexing pointed towards the lake, not really wanting to sleep near fish guts.
Gu Xiang waved him off but followed through with the order. Wen Kexing smiled at Zhou Zishu's glare.
"Don't you know that you have to clean it first before you go and cook it?," Wen Kexing teased, enjoying Zhou Zishu's attention, whether it was positive or negative, "A' Xu, don't tell me you have never cooked before?"
"I know enough to get by," Zhou Zishu rolled his eyes, looking annoyed with Wen Kexing's presence.
How cute.
"Uncle Wen," Zhang Chengling hesitantly called out, drawing Wen Kexing's attention.
Wen Kexing raised an eyebrow in response, a smile that hopefully encourage the boy to continue.
"Why are you still wearing that wig?" Zhang Chengling pointed at the brown locks that covered his white ones, "It's only us around, you can take it off."
That's right, he could. Wen Kexing touched the dark hair on his shoulder, and wondered if he should take it off. In actuality, he didn't want to. It made him feel, well, more normal. More natural. He didn't get any odd looks whenever he wore it, no one had dared to step forward to call Wen Kexing cursed ever since he started wearing it. Of course, he had to apply makeup to his brows and eyelashes to darken them as well, to hopefully have it blend in with the wig, and.... well, it just made Wen Kexing happier, knowing like this, he had more of a possibility of living free.
"Take it off," Zhou Zishu demanded, eyeing the dark hair with a raised eyebrow of his own.
Wen Kexing pouted, flicking a lock back, "I'll take off my disguise if you take off yours."
Zhou Zishu narrowed his eyes, looking far from pleased. It almost made Wen Kexing give in to his orders but he refrained himself. Okay, that was a lie, he would have totally given in if it wasn't for the fact that terrible music started to play from seemingly out of nowhere, hurting his ears.
Gu Xiang and Zhang Chengling had started to go towards where the sound was, but Zhou Zishu seemed to stop them, both of his hands on the small of their backs.
"Wen Kexing!" Zhou Zishu barked out, his voice small in the waves of horrid sound pounding in his ears. Wen Kexing truly felt like he was going to throw up.
"Wen Kexing!" Zhou Zishu called out, somehow managing to be heard over the hands Wen Kexing hand placed over his ears, "Do something, my hands are full!"
